whats that place like? is it a huge store?

It's not that big at least the actual Proshop. They have alot of stuff cramed in a not so big space. Have a small putting surface and a hitting net, but still small. The warehouse isn't huge but big enough, I guess. Nice folks.

I had a set of the EC603 Tour Premiums a couple years ago, not quite as forgiving as I'd like. I just went up there today and bought a Wilson Staff Kirk Currie KC3 heel shafted putter with all the trimmings for $35.

Alright... now that the time has passed I can consider my deal a complete success... so I won't jinx myself. Some of you probably won't agree with my methods but......

Got in on the TaylorMade Employee and Family discount around the time I just got into golf. After, I learned more about clubs and didn't want those SGI clubs I bought. Spent $500-$600 my cash (it's been a while, I forget.) Figured I'd try and return them locally before paying restocking fees to TaylorMade. Golfsmith accepted them with no issues for their selling prices so I ended up with ~$1800 in store credit. Sold off $250 of that for $200 cash back in my pocket.

My shopping list so far with the store credit:

1) Handful of 50pk tees clearanced for $.97.
2) TaylorMade Rossa AGSI+ Modena 8 Putter $71.99.
3) Birdie Driving Range Card $112 of credit for $80.
4) Adidas Black Tech Pants $26.22.
5) Momentus Power Hitter w/ Lob Wedge $89.99.
6) Hogan's Five Lessons $10.99.
7) Izzo Excersice Flex Mat clearance for $6.94.
8) Taylormade Tour Preferred 3-PW Irons Project X Winn Grips Custom Fit $1063.92.

I also got some Adidas PowerBands for $60, but they don't fit right so I'm going to return them... leaving me with about $65 or so credit left with Golfsmith.

So to sum it up, I ended up paying $300-$400 my cash for all the stuff listed above.

Other deals I've gotten:

1) Tour Burner Driver GPPGolf $150.
2) Burner TP golf balls $12 per dozen at GPP.
3) Orange Callaway soft Practice balls $5 dozen @ Marshalls (though if I held out a little longer could have gotten them for $3!)
4) Really nice Adidas golf shorts and shirt $45 @ Adidas Factory Store.
5) Casual Golf Nike Shoes (no spikes) $40 @ TGW

As far as golf itself goes I think Austin, TX's Muni's have some good deals going.

$50 ($40 previous months but price went up) Unlimited Range balls and some other deals... but not good enough considering my other membership.

$850 yearly membership allows play at 4 of the city's 5 courses for $2.50 to walk on weekdays. Same price weekends after sunset. I work on weekends so it works out well for me.

That's it for me....

Though I do want to say that at $430 a year for $2 plays for the seniors.... makes me jealous. I couldn't get them to give me that discount for just being a college student... haha.

And don't forget Entertainment Book coupons! Lots of 2-for-1 greens fees coupons! You can try it out for free too!

I just bought a set of barely used Ping I3+ Blades for $125. The guy is battling cancer and can't play anymore. (I thought about haggling him down a little more until I heard the cancer part...)

Oh, and speaking of deals, a friend of a friend is moving back to Africa so his wife had a rummage sale. She sold his new Callaway BB 460 for a DOLLAR.
