I was thinking about getting this driver. If any of you have tried could you share your comments. Also what driver does it compare to in forgiveness.

I currently use this driver, and overall it is a great driver, and I don't plan on switching to the 909 any time soon.

The club looks great, but I feel it's strength is at address. It has a nice round-ish shape, solid black with the little arrow mark for lining up.

The 907 comes with great stock shafts, and I personally use the UST V2. I feel this shaft and head combo is a great for a mid to low ball flight.

Interms of forgiveness, well for lack of a better phrase, its a Titleist. Meaning that Titleist usually leans towards the player, so I mean in that sense its not to forgiving, but if you are a pretty good ball striker then you should be fine.

For the whole club, I think its biggest strength is it's workablity. I can hit it high, low, cut, draw, anything. Its great!

But, there will never be the perfect club. I think that it's biggest weakness is it spins a bit too much (4000+ rpm's), well for me. Unless you have like no spin, you will probably have to go with a lower spin shaft. Although with my swing I have been bringing the spin down, that coupled with a heavy V2 I manage about 230 average off the tee.

I hope this helps, and good luck in you quest for a new stick.

Here's what I play:

The 907d2 is a great driver. I like it because it feels "solid". It is a fairly forgiving club--its not nearly as forgiving as a Cobra F- Speed--but i would say that the d2 is about the same forgiveness as a TaylorMade r7 Superquad in my humble opinion.

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

I would say that is a good comparison, I've hit other drivers, and find them to be way way way less workable than mine. I think the d2 is a great driver, great distance, I'm gonna be either buying a new 907d2 or a 909d3 I just don't know which yet, I decided if I get straight as ill get 909s(driver, 3 wood hybrid, all new with stiff shafts) and if I get anything less I'll just buy new of what I currently have with stiff shafts. I think the 907d2 is a great club though, I have the ys-6 reg and it's great when I don't balloon it, but that is my fault for getting too whippy of a shaft.

I agree with you. I also want to turn back the clock a few years and say that Titleist's best driver ever made was the 983K...That club on center hits to me is longer than any other club ive hit today. I know that it was only 363cc but in my opinion that was titleists single best club theyve ever made. It was just soo solid and very very long. Im just surprised I don't see it in more players bags at oakmont.

I've got a 10.5 UST V2 75g regular with a 105 mph SS, and find it reasonably forgiving and long with good workability. Recently played 3 rounds at Bandon Dunes (Bandon, Pacific, and Bandon Trails), and hit about 60% fairways using the 907D2. Playing as a 13, I won a few bets...

I just bought the 907d2 and have only played a few rounds with it. Great distance, lowish ball flight, and workability. I'm not even close to a scratch golfer and even I can work the ball. I haven't been able to do that with R7 460 I was using.

When i was looking for a new driver i tried the 907d2 and the 909 d2 and d3. I thought the 909d2 was much more forgiving than the 907. The 909d2 was just about as workable to. Both are very solid drivers

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
