LOL! first of all, thats only HALF of the pile. the other half is in another room. and no, im not rich, lol. and no, i dont buy crappy stuff, i really wish i did though cuz I wouldn't be spending so much $$$ on this stuff. i just have a sickness, heh. I couldnt even tell you how many wedges, fairway woods, and putters i have (i DO know how many sets of SHAFTED iron sets i have though). and the reason i call this a sickness is because i only use a VERY small portion of the stuff i buy, and i find it hard to sell the stuff i dont use. i sometimes do sell stuff i dont end up using, but not very often

Holy macrel!!! How did you get all that in 2 months?

its not hard when you have "an unhealthy fascination with new golf equipment". i mainly blame these forums, lol. they make me go out an buy all this stuff even though i dont need it....

I really don't get this, it's seriously almost a disease of a mindset. People need to stop blaming equipment. I hit my stuff fine, imagine the pros that played with hickory sticks, i'm pretty sure your stuff is nicer, heck even RAM starter sets are, but they still broke 70, which is something only like .00001 percent of golfers do.

in case you couldnt tell, i was joking when i blamed my equipment and these forums. i just like to buy golf equipment. i also collect Mustangs and baseball memorabilia too. and my baseball memorabilia collection puts my golf equipment collection to shame

hah i wasn't aiming that directly at you, just making a generalization about people that "club ho."

ah, sorry....

Hah it's nothing. I'm perplexed about the mind-set that goes through people that do things like buying 5 drivers. Now, I understand the difference between a collector and a "club hoer," just for me I understand and realize it's not the club. I feel that if more people learn to understand this, they will play better to. This is a highly general statement, and directed to no one in particular.

My irons are fine, I need a new driver, mine is about 2-3 generation old, I like to get a TM Tour Burner TP driver but have not decided on the shaft. I don't really need anything else, except maybe a TM r7 fairway 13 Degree fairway wood.

The clubs are only 10% of the game, your golf swing is 90%...........drivers and fairway woods maybe a bit more......... I am not just saying that because I need to buy them... :)

the photo below was taken a few months ago. it shows about 2 months worth of "club-ho'ing", and thats only half of the pile. the other half is downstairs in my office... i usually end up selling what i dont want, and then i wish i would've kept what i sold even though i currently only use 2 or 3 of the 12 or so sets i own. im pretty sure this year alone ive purchased over 2 dozen sets of irons and ended up selling about half of them. i dont know what its going to take for me to just be happy with what i have. maybe we need to start a support group or something, hehe

My stash of club boxes is starting to resemble yours. I broke an 8 iron a couple months ago and that's when it all went south. Must get new irons. The old ones were MacGregor's of the vintage crappy box store set variety. But I was already itching to get the NVG2 driver cause I've heard nothing bad about it and in doing my research I found that Mac turned the whole ship around. So I pick up a new set of NVG2 6-GW for $60 on the bay telling myself I "NEED" game improvement irons because good god my game needs improvement. Alas, sets usually go to the 3 iron though. I'm missing 3 irons! Commence hybrid search with the unfortunate happenstance of reading here that different hybrids work for different people. I needed 3 clubs and now own 6 hybrids. Some people here have also advocated carrying a single 4 wood to free up space for wedges. Done and add wedges to that.

To make matters worse I just bought another set of irons MT-Mids because I just couldn't pass on the price (4-GW @ $50). I'm not ready for them and probably won't be for a year+. But they're on the way and I feel shame.

Having said all of the above... Is it that you have a hard time letting go of them or is it you have a hard time completing the transactions? If it's the latter what do you have in the 23* hybrid, 3 wood and driver category?

I just don't get that, if I'm not gonna hit a club then the only price I'd pay for it is nothing. People can have like back-ups but having 8 clubs of the exact same loft is pretty much insane. Think if you invested that money into lessons. A lot of the people that spend and have rooms full of those, could probably go to the 3 day leadbetter academy. They'd probably shave 10 strokes off if their a very high handicapper, and if not then they still would gain a ton of confidence and consistency.

It's probably good that you don't get it as it may save you a good amount of money in the long run. The flip side of the coin is I haven't paid more than 30 bucks for a hybrid, the MT 4 wood was $20 in 4star condition. The fact is I've put together what's in my bag for around 250 replacing what was essentially a walmart box set. While it's sad that Mac will probably go the way of the dodo I've taken advantage of people's unwillingness to buy a great product based on Mac's former reputation. I've got a cohesive consistent set now (sans a 23* club) for roughly what your driver costs new and I prioritized that over the lessons. I've "wasted" maybe a bill on clubs that won't end up in the bag. Maybe all that's rationalization and justification. Maybe I'm crazy but part of the fun for me is also working out my swing on my own.

Your post seems kind of a trollish response to what's been a tongue in cheek type thread. What's it to you how I(we) spend our money? We're stimulating the economy. Besides, you're coveting a Cobra l5v and x-forged irons, right?

heh, i actually have a 23ΒΊ Callaway hybrid that Im not using at the moment, but Im also not quite ready to part with it either. same thing for the 3 woods too, i have a brand new Callaway Fusion 3 wood Im not using, another Sonartec 3 wood I dont use, a Bridgestone J33 3 wood, and a brand new, never hit Precept EZ 3 wood too. sadly, Im not ready to part with them either, sorry, lol. i know i should just sell some of them, but i really do plan on putting each one of them in my bag one of these days when my current 3 wood starts giving me trouble....

The l5v not anymore, hit it it's not better and not really the x forged. I decided my current are fine, and i will upgrade when I feel they are hindering me so. Idc how you spend your money, I'm just trying to get the point of view from others.

Hey RocketSauce, wanna send a set my way, definitly wouldn't mind replacing my garbage set.

Besides dont think of it as letting go, think of it as clearing some of that much needed space.
