That's one of the main reasons I don't ever want to watch myself swing on video...

Spending your new club money on LESSONS? That's crazy talk...

I like to make my mental picture of Phil Mickelson on his backswing and Annika Sorenstam on the follow-through. I understand that I have a good-looking swing so something must be working!

Sam Snead. JK. :-p

I don't really know who I swing like, really. I'm still learning so I can't say. :-p

Great spirits will always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

I have no idea. Erik might have a better idea as he's seen my swing more than anyone else on this board, but I can't think of any pro I look like off the top of my head.

Fairways and Greens.

It depends on the day. My swing changes from hole to hole...OK shot to shot. Now my practice swing, that's a thing of beauty. If I could just sneak a ball in there during the back swing I could shave off 5 per side. I work for a guy that does fitness reports for the morning news at the NBC affiliate in Detroit. Every year we do golf specific exercises and without fail my swing ends up on TV. Last year we did a piece for his 30 minute prime time special. My swing was all over it. My buddies all let me know how "great" I looked. To make matters worse, the show has been picked up nationally and my swing will be in over 200 markets worldwide.

I would say a cross between a hogan/faldo backswing with a tiger downswing. LOL i wish!! Dont like to compare to proffesionals as then i think that i should be able to hit theball like them and get annoyed when i dont (all the time then )

My swing looks like Joe Cocker on stage singing "with a little help from my friends".At least that what the Mrs. Says!!

I only saw you swing twice at Bethpage and both were at the range. That number was quite on purpose!

In other words, your description seems quite appropriate...

    • 39, +4. A bit better hip slide stuff. More lateral, less turn with the hips.
    • Day 11: Worked on putting with the metronome
    • I added to total today by hopping it in on the first hole for an eagle. A short par 4, I hit 4 wood to 110. With a little breeze in my face I hit a 50 degree gap wedge to 2 feet and watched it hop into the hole for an eagle 2!
    • Sounds good. Text me if you have any questions. You have a good setup, too, and so long as you can get good camera angles… you should be good. https://skillest.com/@iacas
    • Day 14 (September 18).  Morning practice, despite questionable weather (it's raining).   Worked on chipping at first, including run-ups with UW and PW;  I've noticed lately some of my near-GIRs are missing forward, with nothing but grass ahead of me, but 20-30 yards to the pin.  After a few misadventures putting those lately, I wanted to at least get a feeling for what a 30-yard chip shot that doesn't have the variance of my quarter lob wedge would feel like.  I still think "putt when you can putt" is right, but... I am less sure I have a 30 yard putt in me.  Range time also, of course, same routine as the past week or so (drill, 3-4 slow shots, etc).   Did not get to the putting green as it was starting to come down a bit more. Darn, it really is raining.  And I thought today would be a perfect day to play, seeing as how it's 9-18 and all.
