Recently, I've started swinging keep my left knee completely the same flex and in the exact same position as it was at address. It seems like it's either to stop from rising or falling and resulting in more pures. Anyone else doing this? I notice pros don't and I don't get why, i still get a good shoulder turn almost 90 degrees, but i wanna know if I'm, losing distance doing this, I stopped doing this and had a horrible day, so give me some opinions.

Doing the exact same thing has _increased_ my distance and accuracy. Before I had a tendancy to come too far inside on the backswing and combined with the dreaded slide kept hitting it weak and to the right.

If you're pure 2 planer .. maybe ! HowEver In every type of swing dominant engine could be "body motor" (.. in 2 plane arms are equal/more important) And if you're using body as motor ... hip turn is inevitable. And more potential "problems" .. sometimes shoulder turn feel is not enough (it's just a missperception) because shoulders turn is (or should be) in reallity torso turn (you can turn your shoulders without turning a torso).

In 1 plane swing body motor is No. 1 and with a more bent over postion turning of the torso resulting in turned hips (up to 45 degrees) and with that left leg can't be in the same position. regards, p.s. Everybody talks about quiet legs (and balance). But quiet legs is something different (mostly right leg) from yours explanation p.p.s. Maybe yours action resulting in more quiet swing postions (less shift to the right) and therefore more solid results. Take a video and/or watch yourself in the mirrror. Maybe perception of left leg is different than reallity

Sounds like good advice for the back knee.

That works for me, for sure. I'm not a long hitter, but i'm consistent and straight. And if i start getting a little "iffy" i focus on keeping the right knee flex constant through impact. It almost always gets me back to where i belong.

Another thing that helps me is to keep the clubhead outside the hands (closer to the target line) to avoid pulling it in too quickly.

Two simple phrases work for me:
It's Back, Up, and In; not Back, In and Up.
Stay down through the whole shot.

I'm extremely "unfussy" about balls. I'll play anything white and round!  I''ll even play the colors i find.

I like what you say about back, up, then in...good stuff...that's a good way to help people not take the club back too inside which so many struggle with.

    • I feel that the stock grips on my Wilson D9's are a little thin.  The grips on my other clubs (purchased used online and sold by me a couple months ago) were Golf Pride and they looked like the wrapped version.  I will say they felt like they had a little more cushion.  I don't have particularly large hands.  Did the grips on my other clubs have more tape or was just a better feeling softer grip?  I have no idea.  Well, any brands you would recommend that have a softer feel?
    • So this situation happened. A bunker in front of the green was full of water. My ball was underwater in the very back of the bunker furthest from the green. There was a small patch on the front upslope of the bunker nearest the green that theoretically could have been used to hit from if the ball was placed.  A drop would just roll back into the water. And this was the only part of the bunker you might be able to get a stance without standing in water. So my question is do you hit from that small front slope even though you would have to move the ball 6-7 closer to the pin? Or do you drop outside the bunker making sure you are no closer to the pin? I dropped in front of the bunker, so I had to chip over the whole bunker. Was this the right call? Also could I have moved it latterly outside the bunker, although this wouldn’t have made much difference as my ball was pretty much as far back in the bunker as you could be away from the hole.
    • I just got my shotscope v5 watch and used it yesterday. Its fairly accurate at the course I was playing so I did not use my rangefinder at all. I was able to calculate what club i needed from that.

    • Why?  You would never be waiting on me.  I am one of the fastest players you will ever run into on the golf course.  I am extremely fit and almost always the first to the green and the first to the next tee box.  When I play with my 16 year old step son who is a 3 handicap, he tells me to slow down.  Also,  what does it take me?  40 seconds round trip to walk off 30 yards?  (which is the max I walk off)  I like to have a look at the break around the hole which helps me to hole out chips which I did for birdie from 27 yards just the other day.  I also do this while waiting on my playing partners to catch up to me so you need not worry about being irritated, I can pretty much guarantee you that you could not keep up with me on the golf course.  🙂
