Don't spoil the ending for me yet, but it struck me as odd the lack of shorts in this year's version... Did someone on the PGA Tour kinda push them not to wear shorts? I'd heard something like that...

I wonder what I'd shoot from the 7000-yard tees at Isleworth...

I wonder why these guys play this "tournament"..it is star ridden.. what is the draw..how much do they get paid to play? do they get WG ranking points? I never understood how this draws top notch players..besides that they belong to one of the respective clubs..I mean are they really fighting for some type of inter-club rivalry..what's it about?

The winning team splits one million, the losers split 500 grand so small potatoes for those guys. There are some decent prizes for longest drive and holes in one, though. Mostly it is a fun time with less pressure playing with friends. It is an inter- country club rivalry and they are playing for bragging rights mostly.

Maybe I'm just spoiled but I just don't see these premiere players playing for "fun" and bragging rights..I can't see Ernie or Retief hooting and hollering about if their club wins the cup..JMHO

Maybe you should watch then. PGA Tour players are still golf fanatics. They're just really good at it. Why should they be any less inclined to enjoy a little friendly competition than, say, you or me?

I agree, these guys love golf. I would imagine it is nice for them to play more friendly matches with less pressure. The tour guys I know and have played with come home and seem to enjoy teeing it up at the local muni and playing with club pros and a couple of amateurs.

I'd bet there are probably some pretty decent side bets going on that don't get covered in the news. I'd say it must mean alot for these guys to be there playing, otherwise would tiger not be out with his ailing father instead of a simple club rivalry?

so did i. i was pushing for isleworth the hole time. props to Mcdowell. i think he played real well. tiger friggen crushed the ball(340+) haha that was a site to see, but wow was it just me but it seemed like there was alot of sand play this time around..very interesting

Charles howell and Stuart appleby was really good today. Their personal bests I would say in this format. Mcnulty(senior) almost topped everybody. LOL

It was good to see CH3 shoot a 68 yesterday. He has to be one of the best "non-stress" golfers on the PGA Tour. However, when you add a little stress, he falls apart. Hopefully the 68 will carry into The Masters. If he doesn't get something going pretty quickly, he will be in danger of losing a lot of exempt status. He is like 115th in money right now.

He's talented but thats about it. He's a hard worker but dosen't work on the right things. I think he should get a mental coach and work on some things like Ernie.
