Didn't touch a golf club until I was in my midtwenties. Started playing a little with some guys from work.....it was amazing how bad I sucked but yet wouldn't go get help. Tried to figure the game out by myself.

Been playing for fifteen years or so.

Been told that my swing is "old school"...left heel comes up....knee movement.....right foot up quickly on follow-through (when I do actually follow through).

Best scores were in / around 2001. I shot several rounds in the mid/high 70's.

Golf tapered off due to other hobbies, fishing and hunting.

Then quit playing altogether for about 4 years....now back in it as my sole hobby. Working now more on keeping a stable base, quiet lower body with limited hip turn...tyring to build torque in right knee without pain....improving tempo.....light grip pressure and zero tension.

I feel like my best scores may still be ahead of me.

I started playing in '99 and then quit playing in '01 and started playing again last year. I think my best score is somewhere in the low 90s. I honestly dont keep score most of the time and dont obsess over my handicap that much.

35 years. Best score is a one over par 73, and that was almost 20 years ago. I've lowered my handicap for each of the last 4 seasons, and I intend to continue that trend, although it gets harder as I get older. I'm playing now at about the same scoring level as I was when I shot that 73. I'm still playing the same course as my home course, but it's a more difficult track now, so I'm actually playing slightly better than I was then... my game is more in control.

I,ve been playing for about 45 years. My best score is a 68 some years ago. I,ve had one chance to better that my being 5 under with 5 to play but I choked my way to 5 straight bogeys. Being older now its the low 80,s is about all i can do.

played a few times growing up, but played baseball until i broke my wrist. Now, no more baseball, and I picked up golf seriously may of 2008. Best 18 hole score to date is a 73 on a par 70 course, but I have broken 36 on 9 holes a couple of times. Over the last month I have dropped from a 9 to a 5 handicap, and have shot 4 straight rounds 79 or better. Trying to get to 0 and play collegiate golf

First I must say that I loathe all you golfers that have been playing a couple of years and have already shot 71ish.

I have been playing since I was 12 but really only playing 50+ rounds a year the last 3-4 years and have only been able to break 80 4 times, with consistent 78's.

I have been playing golf for 16 years...

Guess I'm a later bloomer - started just over a year and a half ago and I'm 42 y/o. My buddies are good golfers but started early and don't play now-a-days unless I throw a fit. Best round so far 83. I have fun regardless what score I shoot.

I played occasionally as a kid. In my late 20s, I started playing a bit more often. I stopped playing for the most part about 7-8 years ago because I couldn't find the time I needed to improve. I realized that I missed golf, and decided to get back into it.

Been playing for 3 years. Best score on a par 72 is 103.

Best score on a par 3 course is 73 I believe...

My handicap listed is just my best guess, I still need to figure that out.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
