In the last month-and-a-half I've found and returned - to either the owner or the clubhouse - one Bushnell Pinseeker GPS, one PING Anser 2, two brand new Vokeys and a college towell and one Callaway X-Forged wedge w/PX 6.0 shaft.

I've also lost one Izod windbreaker (wrapped around my irons until it was too late to realize I'd dropped it) and one glove. Neither of my items were returned.

I have never left a club but have left a ton of headcovers. I must have left 8 covers(when i say 8 it isnt 8 different covers just 8 or more times i have lost one). I have had all but 2 turned in. I have sometimes even lost a headcover the day i get it back!!!!( I always feel soooo stupid when i have to go to the pro shop and ask if someone has turned in aa headcover. Oh yeah all this has happened in the last 9 months!!!

When i find something i bring it to the proshop or if someone's behind me i leave it.

I found a two way chipper in the trash at the 6th hole at my home course. I almost pulled it out but just couldn't make my self do it

Leave it in there - it's there for a reason - you don't want that club's bad mojo.

i found 2 callaway wedges on #17 today... they looked brand new... im teeing up on 18 when i see a cart screaming around the corner... guy kept apologizing up and down and asked if id seen his wedges... which were in my bag... i told him those clubs were wayyy too nice to be forgotten... he offered to give me a reward for finding them but i declined... he said he was from out of town and it woulda sucked if he got on his plane and left them behind

I found a rusted up 9 iron in the timber last week. I used it as a walking stick up a big hill and 2 holes later I had a lie where a rock was right in front of my ball in the trees. I pulled that 9 out and pitched over the rock, but it hurt like a SOB when I hit the rock. saved my club from getting dinged and a stroke I would have taken to go out around the rock.

I've also found clubs up in trees from when people get mad and chuck them up there. I got 2 once because a friend saw one and decided to throw his wedge to get it, which also got stuck, so a few days later during practice I brought a ball retriever and got them down. It was a Ben Hogan 7i.

I lost a glove last week and it was not returned. Found an almost brand new Cleveland 60* on the green. I walked to the next teebox and the guy was driving his cart back and I gave it to him. I was going to give it to the owner since I know him personally.

Something similar happened to us as well. We were playing and on the green there was a wedge. We assumed it was the group in front of us, so we had caught up with them and he said that it was is. Well, when we were done, there was a guy asking people if they've found a wedge, and nope, it wasn't the same guy that we had given it to. That's just horrible, someone ended up getting a free wedge, but usually there are pretty cool people at the golf course, but of course there are those selected few. Bummer too...and this was on Thanksgiving day!! Needless to say, the guy we gave the wedge to was nowhere to be found or seen again!!

If I find a club, I leave it at the pro shop, unless someone on course approaches me and asks about it. Ironically, I left my sand wedge near a green last Sunday. I called the course Monday and it had been recovered. Hooray for honest people.

Back during qualifing for the state public links, somebody in my group found one of those fancy bushnell rangefiders. The dude kept it. Whomever lost it wasnt supposed be using that model in the tournament, anyway. So screw him.

There are some good people around. The BF left 3 clubs on the course and by the time we got home, he finally realized that he left the clubs there. He called the pro shop, and sure enough, people had turned them in! Phew!! There's always a few rotten eggs around!! You know how you have your clubs outside when you go into the pro shop to check in, shop, whatever? I have a hard time doing that because you just never know who could come along and just swipe your stuff. Granted, no one really wants a pink TaylorMade bag with purple clubs, but you can just never be too sure!!

That's very un-classy, to not return things that just aren't yours. That's a bummer :(

This "dude" is a thief and a unqualified POS.

If someone was breaking the tounrnament rules, you should have turned him in, not stolen his property.

    • On the subject of teenagers in professional tournaments there is a kid (Kris Kim) who is a member of my club in England and is at my old school. He’s 16. He’s playing in the pga tour event in Texas this week. Shot 69 yesterday for T31 and is -2 today through 5 holes. T55 and on the cut line. I really hope he makes the cut. Will be awesome.    His dad I believe is a teaching pro and his mum was on the LPGA Tour for a while.
    • I have two contenders here that stick out to me: In second place, a putt to win the hole playing the 16th hole at Burnham and Berrow. Playing foursomes and the green has a big bank at the front then a flat bit and then it goes up again to a back shelf. My partner had hit our second shot onto the back shelf. We were 2up at the time and he was being a little wobbly so we didn’t want to lose the hole. Our oppo were conceded a 4 and my partner told me to just lag it down there nicely. 20 year old me meant to do that and failed. I hit it a bit hard and it was definitely going to clear the tier and probably run off the front of the green, but it hit the hole right in the middle and went in. My partner was very happy we won the hole but quite upset at my ability to follow instructions.    Number 2 is my most memorable. I was about 16 playing in the junior knockout at my club. We get to the 10th hole - long par 4 and index 2. I didn’t hit a very good drive, hit my second up about 60 yards short and pitched on to maybe 25 feet. I started walking and I got this feeling. I knew I was going to hole it. There was no doubt at all. I’ve never felt like that any other time in my life but this one putt was a certainty. It was February and the greens had been recently hollow tined so they were in awful shape. I didn’t even line it up. I hit my putt and it bumped and bounced all over the place until it went in the middle of the hole. If I could bottle up that feeling and sell it I’d be up there with Bezos and musk. Mind blowing!
    • It's strange how ONE person can be THAT much different/better/whatever than anyone else.
    • I saw a YouTube review on a bunch of ball brands and the Maxfli Tour X did very well in comparison. I bought a sleeve and found them to be excellent in feel and distance. But I’m a lousy golfer so nobody probably cares about my opinion. 😃
