i plead ignorance on this one.

Im assuming its talking about Pot brownies but I dont see the connection to boyscouts at all.

I would associate them more with jokes of molestation or something other than drugs.......

can anyone fill me in ? And if its about marijuana I honestly dont see how some of you can call it tasteless....its meh at best.

edit:

looked it up......girlscouts called brownies? I never was involved in boyscouts for fear of the "Lets take our shirts off and kiss" freakshows. I could see how that could be crude on tv now =)

Funny….to me yes. Grounds for dismissal….c'mon. You don't like it tune it out…. Politically correctness

People just need to GET OVER IT! The sensitive nature of "certain people" in this country makes me sick.

yes, girl scouts are called brownies. so he "ate" a brownie - in the sense of "eating at the Y"...

quite humorous, IMHO.

It is about sexual behavior among teenagers, i.e. Boy Scouts and young Girl Scouts, called "brownies". I think our society is over-sexed enough without a "sports broadcaster" pointing out a tee shirt like that. If you have a 12 year old son who asks, "What does that mean, Dad?", how would you answer him?

Tell him the truth…it was a joke and that there is no need to be uptight over it, who knows a child may actually learn a thing or two from this. I think teens are "sex-crazed" because there is a fundamental lack of knowledge and dialogue. An innocent joke like that tee-shirt may be enough to break the ice and start general discussions about the subject.

My 2 cents.

yeah, pretty much. i mean, we can see people getting shot and tortured on prime time TV, but if you want to show a womans rear then no way...we titillate our senses w/ sexual innuendo and then hide behind FCC regs. go to europe and theres no big deal over these things. and also, middle school kids know way more than we give them credit for.

Golf in general has a bunch of motor-mouthed announcers. I can relate that to the Johnny Miller factor where Johnny thinks everything he says matters and the other media outlets praise him for "speaking his mind". One reason why I liked Curtis Strange, he announced golf, gave some perspective about the Tour but didn't overdo it. Keep it to the golf and not the flair.

Curtis was decent, and informative. I am trying to think of what broadcasters I have liked---Peter Jacobsen comes to mind. He combined a sense of humor, with respect for the players, and gave some good insights.

Good response. When our son and daughter were in their teens (he is 28 now, and she is 24), I was always very frank with them about sex. I taught church school for 10 years and in the first class, I would say to the high school freshmen, "Here is a topic that we will discuss from an ethical standpoint". Then, I would turn my back to them, and in big letters, slowly write the word SEX on the blackboard. Naturally, there would be giggles and laughter. After I turned around, I would say, "Now, I am a guy, and I know how the guys reacted---they think they know it all and it is so funny. You know why?---they cannot get pregnant. You girls probably did not find it so funny. You know why?---you can get pregnant. Your guy can walk away and leave you at that point, and then you have to decide---what do I do with my baby? And that is not funny." The guys would look at the ground, and the girls would nod their heads. They knew that I was right.

    • Thanks Bill, Really appreciate the tips! I'm hoping between side saddle putting and working on the Jim Venetos swing I'll drop some shots off my typically mid-90's score.
    • Thinking about seeing if our local course will make divot repair part of the annual youth camp….and I love @dennyjones comment to stick ‘em to the carts.   Sadly a lot of the older guys are not stable enough to bend down and make a good repair - so they just let them be or just do the putter tamp.  We also have one member who shuffles his way on and off the green - soft spike marks everywhere….
    • The lie is not really adjustable.  The PGA states that it must have at least 10 deg angle (not sure on the exact #) all of these putters came with the minimum allowable angle from vertical.  This is why the corners are beveled off.  The sole of the club is not intended to sit flat on the ground. Having said all this, the only way to change the angle is to bend the silver piece that the shaft is glued in to. In use: 1. Hold the putter with your top hand and let it dangle 2. the beveled edge will be the closest part to the ground 3. place bottom hand much like holding a pencil 4.  Club should swing forward and back freely but not hit your foot.  If it does then you need to move you top hand outward. 5. Do not manipulate the club path. straight forward and back 6. I keep my top hand tight on the putter.  My bottom hand twists the putter counter clockwise against my top hand.  This keeps the face from opening up. Good luck.  I have been using mine for close to 10 years.  I average 1.7 putts/hole (yes I have statistics on every hole I play) Bill
    • Day 29 (19 Feb 25) - Winter storm in place (here it's cold icy rain), inside day today - started with mirror work and 8i - working on weight shift sequence using shortened swing (backswing to P3) and coming through to P8.  Focused on sensing the shift to the lead foot as I get toward P3 and then coming through smoothly.  Followed up those series of rehearsals with some easy lag putts working to equalize backswing length with downswing finish to 3' - 5' - 8' distances.
    • This is a long shot given how old this thread is, but I just picked up a Reeso VTX putter and I'm trying to adjust the lie, but it's not obvious how to do that. Aside from unscrewing the hosel from the putter head everything else looks fused together. Wondering if @PRWELLMAN @Yipper @discap have any info about adjusting the lie. Thanks for the help.
