I live in New England and were obviously in the "seasonal" area of the country for golf, but I was bale to get in 98 rounds last year.

A guy at my club played 217 rounds from April to Nov...he ended up being #17 in the country on ghin.com for most rounds played in a seasonal area....

That's pretty crazy, doing the math off the top of my head assuming that the season is from April 1st to November 30th, that would be 214 days. He would have had to play every single day with two rounds in one day in some instances.

I played one... I just started playing golf again. For the last previous 7years, I only played one round a year. Obviously this year, I'm already well past that at 16 rounds. Handicap is tumbling nicely as well...

In 2002, my last full year, I played 230 rounds. Our season is basically all year but the majority were played between February and November. There quite a few days when I played two rounds.

Cheers, Allan

i probably played between 100-150 rounds last year (9 hole and 18 hole rounds), the vast majority were 9 hole rounds after work. hopefully i will get in closer to 200 this year, as i won't be working any overtime.

Over 100.... not sure how much over though. Our season ran from mid March to mid November. This year it ends on the 31st of October for some reason.

I played enough to satisfy me. I played upwards of 4 times a week (not 18 each time, sometimes only had time for 9 after school or work). I got out as much as I could.

I think I played about 8-10 rounds with my own ball. Probably about another 8-10 rounds that were scrambles/shambles/goofing off, etc. My company 'sponsors' a few local charity/fundraiser type tournaments. Meaning they donate the money and I usually end up getting to play a 18 hole scramble or something. I don't get out on my own nearly as much as I would like.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

wow... how do you guys do it? i try to play as much as humanly possible with my schedule and i could only squeeze in around 40 rounds last season... i even work 1 day a week at a golf course so that i could eliminate money as an excuse not to play... im so jelly... but unless i quit work i dont think playing 3 or more times a week is even possible :(

Last year I got to play 85 rounds. These were spread out over 12 states and 5 countries. I travel some on business and try to get a round or two in while away from home.

I'm sure I played close to 100 18 hole rounds and probably another 30-40 rounds of 9 holes or less.

Hmm, well I managed a whole 5 rounds. I'm never in the same place as my clubs, so I cant get out much. My goal this year is 30 rounds.

75-100. I'm sure that will go up this year provided my back stays healthy.

I play quite a bit, but I'm not even in the league with most of the previous posters. I played around 55 rounds last year, plus about 15 9-hole rounds. I would love to play more, but money, time and weather limit me (mostly money). I have only been able to play 1 full round and 1 9-hole round so far this year due to weather conditions. When the weather has been good enough to play I've had other things I had to do (work mostly) and the rest of the time it's either been too cold or snowy (and I'll play down to around 35*). This year I may be able to play more, but since I don't enjoy playing weekends by myself or with random strangers it partially depends on my golf partners (I kinda life playing alone on weekdays). I have about 11 different people I play with regularly, so it's usually possible to find someone to play with, but not all since they are not as willing to play in cold or rain as I am.

I played 16 rounds last year. Our season is April to October. I hope to play once a week this year. I've got a two month old so we'll see how that works.

okay 52 weekends a year...
if you play sat and sun... thats 104... give or take weather conditions and only 1 round per day... id be generous in saying something under a hundred rounds in a season would be tops for me

I played 8-10 rounds last year. It drives my buddies crazy, because when I do play I still keep it around par. Golf just isn't the most important thing in my life, so my play has decreased over the last 8 years.
I actually enjoy helping my kids on their games more than playing myself.

    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
    • Day 136 12-26 Had a different practice planned today but life happened. Worked on "wide to wide" and still working on remaining flowy. Starting the club head in front of the ball as a drill, is helping with the flow of the swing.
