Mentioning Lefty in my column last week seems to have a beneficial effect on the golfer's play. When, last week, I jokingly suggested Mickelson had lost the ability to compete at the highest level, he went out and won the Northern Trust Open, collecting a cool 1.1 million dollars in ...

I think you have to like phil. He is what Tiger is not. I mean Tiger has great stuff, but he should be kinder to people. Would he die or lose the tournament by 0.000000001 shots if he stopped 10 minutes to give autographs?

In my bag:

Titleist 905 Aldila VS Proto| TaylorMade r9 stiff shaft| Titleist 906F Aldila NV 75-S Fairway| Titleist ZM S300 (3-PW) |Titleist 54º SM TT Wedge Flex| Titleist 60º SM TT Wedge Flex| Scotty Cameron Newport 2

09 Goals- Handicap to 2 (I'm crazy I know)- Win 10 tournaments (dune)- Win...

He signs many autographs, but also, if he stops for 1 minute, within 2 minutes there will be 10,000 people swarming around him. Part of it is actually respect for his competitors. He doesn't want it all to be about him.

Check out Phil's autograph signing policies on his website. You might get a bit of a surprise.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I wish I could like him,too. lol

What I find most irksome about Phil-billy is that he should be so much better than he is. He should be a consistent #2. The Tiger vs Phil retardation should make more sense than it does. He has the skills and tools, maybe lacks the drive?

But, would you care enough to push for the top when you could make 62 mil a year being a smiley pudgy playboy?

I love Phil. His "never lay-up" mentality is awesome. Instead of 99% of tour pros who sort of ease up and try to make an easy birdie or par on a par 5, Phil can either make eagle or triple bogey. And that's why it's fun to watch him.

They are both outstanding players (sure TW is more so) and both seem to have some solid personal attributes, but each one has some irritating traits too. With respect to Rick Reilly, while I agree it's hard to find someone who is a fan of both, I don't agree that folks are fans of one or the other. I can think of other players I prefer to see win over either if they are in the running.

I will say that Phil is entertaining, sometimes unintentionally, and for an armchair fan that's a good thing.

I like both Tiger and Phil. Phil reminds me of watching Seve back in the day. I tend to like the players that hit it all over the lot yet still find a way to score.
