Anybody have the story behind Luke Donald conceding the match to Ernie Els on Friday? Injury? Getting beat too badly and didn't want a 9 & 8 match score?

Anybody got the story? Thanks.

I think he conceded on the 18th tee, 1 down, with his wrist hurting. I can't find a notebook the way they have for stroke play tournaments.

Last year, David Toms (I think) conceded a match on the first tee.

Yeah he tweaked his wrist on the 17th hole...withdrew on the 18th.

Also remember he has only just recently come back from wrist surgery.

He said he felt a twinge in his wrist and didn't want to make it any worse, and said he was going to fly straight to N.Y to see his doctor.

Update: Donald got the injury checked out, and the odd feeling he was experiencing was due to scar tissue in the wrist. Good news that its not structural, and all he needs is a little treatment and some wrest.
