Hi,

I've decided my Odyssey 2 Ball putter is too long and the lie is too flat for me. I bought it off the shelf and didn't really know a lot about putting then-technically. I just liked the feel and new I needed help aiming. Plus I holed everything in the shop (what a surprise-those greens must be rigged-I just dont ever miss in the shop!). I now know the putter set up is part of my putting issues-I can't get my eyes over the ball target line without taking the heel off the ground.

Anyway, Im gonna sell the putter and some other clubs to fund getting a brand new Yes! putter fitted for me. The fitting centre is near me. And I've spoken to someone on the phone from the shop-VERY NICE HELPFUL GUY!

I use a 2 Thumb putter grip and want to probably go for a centre shaft model-apparently they work better with this method. But will try others.

Can anyone recommend which are the best Yes models to try? Which ones do people here have. I like the look of Natalie and possibly Hanah.

Cheers

Cocky

Do you still like the look and feel of the Odyssey? You can have it fitted to you (shorten the shaft, adjust lie) for a lot less than buying a new putter, and you wouldn't have to go through the hassle of selling clubs to pay for it.

I have a Yes! callie-f (forged) I absolutely love it. I have done a lot of work to it to get it where I have it, but it was well worth it. I have had it bent both ways, cut down to 32.5" ( Yes I'm nearly 6' tall, but I like short putters ), and I have had it balance certified. I love my Yes putter way more than I ever loved my Scotty Cameron. It is just a better feeling putter and seems to be more forgiving.

I spend a lot of time looking at the Callie F, would have gone that route except I have been wanting a Ping since I was a kid.

It's actually a good putter i rotate it out w/ my scotty. If i didnt have my scotty itd always be in my bag. It's not very forgiving though.....

After recently reading the putting section of Rotella's "Golf is not a game of perfect", I have been putting out of mind with my scotty. I have been planning on getting the Sophia, but now I am not sure. I have to admit that I do use one of those super stroke putter grips (ala KJ Choi) and would be putting it on the Sophia.

Titleist Man, what do you mean by it's not very forgiving? I am very interested in your take since we seem to have an equal game.

I got fitted with my Yes putter today. I got a Hanah model. Love it. Its 2 inches shorter than my odyssey and more upright-I can get my eys over the ball. It also has just 1 degree loft instead of the 4 the odyssey has. The Yes guy was very helpful-didnt seem I had problems with the Odyssey considering the set up. I know my putting is going to improve lots now. Just need to seel my Odyssey!

Well I've been practicing for an hour or so with my new putter and I'm really happy. The biggest difference is the fact it is fitted0I WOULD DEFINITELY ADVICE GETTING A PUTTER FITTED. I am now perfectly over the ball and my putts are coming straight off the sweet spot.

The Hanna putter itself-well I think when you get a new piece of kit you always tend to think its the best thing since sliced bread. Im no different-like a boy with a new toy. So I'm gonna be biased and say it's great. However, trying to be objective and compare with the Odyssey. Well...I think it is more forgiving, and the sweet spot certainly has a nicer feel than the Odyssey white steel insert. I seem to be significantly more accurate with it (Ok its only my living room!) than the Odyssey. The challenge for me is to take it on the course and keep improving on my terrible alignment.

Interestingly when I got fitted with the computer analysis and SAM etc. He looked at the skidding effect of my old putter and the new Yes! putter, with it's C Grooves that are supposed to stop the skid effect and start a nice topspin roll earlier in the ball's journey. The comparison showed no difference whatsoever! So maybe that's a bit of hype?

All in all I'm very happy with my choice so far. More importantly I'd definitely push anyone getting a new putter to get it fit-and I'd suggest checking out Yes!. For the RRP price of the putter I got it fitted free of charge and a free mirror training aid. Not bad considering I paid £110 for my Odyssey not fitted off the shelp-and it turned out to be set up all wrong for me.

The Olivia was an impulse purchase for me.

It reminded me of my father's old Zebra putters that he used to kick arse with.

I like the clean mallet lines....it aligns like a champ. The head is really well finished.

Also I like the adjustable weighting. You can really alter your stroke speed with these weights.

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
