Hi,

And what is yours swing changes ? I can see you're right foot stays down longer (positive progress) .. and downswing is more school like 2 plane (for driver swings). irons swing doesn't look too good though for your level !

I'm working on swinging around my body. I was very handsy, take it outside and be in the most retarded position post impact with my hands. I also need to work on tempo and standing taller. Kinda hard to explain what I'm really working on though

Nice. What is your swing speed? It looks like you generate a lot of power on the downswing.

2011 Goals:
* Improve club-head speed to 90 mph with the driver
* Ensure increased speed does not compromise accuracy
* Prevent overextending on the back-swing (left-arm is bending too much at the top)
* Relax arms initially at address ( too tense)* Play more full rounds (failed from 2010)

I'm jealous.....my swing is nowhere near as smooth.

Three things really jump out about your swing that I've been working on:
  1. you don't go beyond parallel at the top...nice position at transition point
  2. great tempo and balance
  3. excellent follow through....balanced and fully directed down the target line.

is your miss a push fade?

Thanks for the input guys.

My miss is probably 90% left, either a dead pull or just turning it over too much. If I hit it right, it is probably because my tempo was bad and I get jumpy at it, hitting it thin.

looks like you take the club back shut and not on plane. Nice tempo and flow to the swing, seems like you generate some power. Better than my swing, ha ha. But so is your handicap. WIthout sounding too harsh, it doesn't look like a 1 handicap swing. I'd predict you hit quite a few shots left.

^ha well I have been struggling for a couple weeks, and you've pointed out what I'm trying to work on...but if you look at Jim Furyk's swing, from first glance you would never assume he plays on tour.

And yes, my miss is left.

Well at the moment the more i practice the worse I get. My short game improves massively with practice. But my ball striking doesn't. This has led me to book a series of golf lesson starting wednesday. It's too hit and miss on my own.

Do you have a coach? Obviously you know what your doing more than me, but still, if you're struggling it might be worth a lesson (hardly a lesson for you-more of a trained eye to check you out). If you have a coach it might be worth getting someone new to have a quick look at your swing.

It does seem fairly obvious what your problem is, even to a relative novice like myself-but as we know, fixing it is always tough!

    • Day 21, May 25.  Hit "the whole bucket" as practice today after reviewing my Skillest lesson.  I think something crept into my swing last week that wasn't in the lesson, so I went back to the lesson and renewed my focus.  Each ball was a minute or so, 2-3 slow rehearsal backswings and checking the mirror for how far back I was going. "The whole bucket" means every ball I have in the bin at my indoor practice room;  I counted when I put them back, that's six dozen plus six total.  That is probably more full swings than I took over the weekend (excluding range warm-ups) in two rounds!  But these were all with a 6-iron.
    • Day 265 5-25 Hit some balls just to see where i was, no "thoughts' except getting arms in front. Did some recording where i focused on getting chest through and arms in front.
    • Day 76 (25 May 26) - Broke out the "vintage" clubs (MacGregor blades, Wilson 4150 laminates) to work with clubs that are much less forgiving.  Worked through the bag using hard foam balls for the full swings, regular balls for the chips and pitches.  Found it to be a more focused session on making consistent contact.
    • Can you elaborate on this?  There's a par-4 hole at the course I've played the most (was my home course for over a decade, now 50 miles away but I still go and play there) whose green is below the fairway and I realized recently it's one of three holes on the course I've never made birdie, despite that I often have a short iron into the green for my second shot.  It isn't even that I haven't made birdie, but I realize I often don't hit the green.  My typical play of the hole is to have a near-GIR and sometimes I get up and down, but not as often as I would if I were trying to 2-putt.
