Does anyone out there have a duplicate iron set of their irons?

I am seriously considering buying another set of MP-33's, getting them refinished, and having them set up to the exact same specs as my current set.

I really like them, they're the nicest blades I've every hit. If they ever wore out, got stolen, it could be difficult to replace them, especially on short notice.

Cheers, Allan

I dont keep an exact duplicate of AP2's. They're just too expensive right now. When i used to play titliest 695's i had a duplicate set of those. After i got the AP2's i got my old ones bent weak one degree and now they serve as my backups. But i think generally, getting a used set of the irons you like and stiffin them up isnt a bad idea.

I have duplicates for my woods and my Acushnet AC-108s(have 3 sets of these). I am looking for a duplicate of my 990s(r300 shafts). If I find something that works for me, I usually stick with it.

Not me.

I tend to stick with the same irons for quite awhile, but I've never been invested enough in one particular set to basically pay double for the privilege of playing them.

Wow... those are gorgeous. I'd be afraid to use them

My buddy who has played on the PGA, Nationwide, and Canadian Tour has 3 sets of 990's... I don't think I've ever seen him play anything else, and he has like 14 sets of clubs in his closet.

I bought a set of MP-32s used about a year ago that had some ball marks and wear on them. I just recently bought a new set because I liked them soo much, but I sold my old set back, don't know if that counts.

I have two sets of MP-32s, one has S300s and the others have R300s. The stiffs are like new and I think I'll play them when my current set wears out.

I have thought about doing this so that when i change shafts and what not, if I don't like them I'll always have my original set to go back to while I change the others.

I'm thinking that, when I need to upgrade iron shafts to stiff in a year or so (I hope), I'll seek out a second set of MP-57s rather than getting new or getting my current ones re-shafted.
