Had hernia surgery in Oct, just got over recovering from it and a combination of pushing hard at the gym + driving range resulted in an inflamed iguinal ligament (the one that runs into your groin). Thought I had another hernia at first and I've been unable to go to the gym or do anything for the last 6 weeks while it recovers.

Have a partly broken hernia, prob. the same reasons as stated above.

No operation necessary yet, but it will come. I will go for a "minimal invasive" operation where the full recovery time is much shorter than from conventional hernia surgery (about 2 weeks). Despite that, nothing serious, just the usually, sore wrists and spine blockages.

This didn't happen to me, thank God, but I recently heard this story from an older family friend who I played a round with about a month ago.

This family friend took up golf when he was about 50 because his company was going on a golf outing, and he really wanted to participate. The invitation said "Must have golf experience," and he had none. A couple days before the outing he hit a few buckets of balls on the range and thought that would count as enough experience.

...Anyway, he gets to the first tee and lines up his shot. Some poor soul is standing facing the golfer, directly to the right of his ball about twenty feet away. Normally that would be a safe position, considering the golfer is trying to hit the ball straight.

He takes a swing and barely catches the ball, and toes it 90 degrees to the right, directly into the innocent bystanders crotch. He said the man let out a yelp like a helpless animal and fell to the ground. Apparently he had a rough couple of weeks, but ended up having children in the long run..

I didn't have the option for a non full on surgery so it was 6 weeks of doing nothing. Apparently the long term strength of the repair on the normal surgery is higher than the laproscopic so i guess i win on that.

A friend of mine watched someone in his group get hit in the head and killed right off the tee box. A member of their group toe shanked a driver and hit the other guy right in the temple. Bad day at the golf course.

My swing thoughts:

- Negative thinking hurts more than negative swinging.
- I let my swing balance me.
- Full extension back and through to the target. - I swing under not around my body. - My club must not twist in my swing. - Keep a soft left knee
