Cleveland and Titleist both have great reputations for quality and both are considered companies that make "players" equipment. You won't have to worry about quality from either company. It depends on which company you like better, which club you would enjoy playing more. Which club scores more style points?

I know that a lot of guys have enjoyed the playability of the 704's. They offer good forgiveness while staying workable. Its your call.

I have hit the Cleveland CG2 and my impression was that the irons are very soft, easy to hit, and are long (I didn't realize the lofts were a degree strong). My overall impression was that while the clubs are well constructed and designed, I just felt that the CMM material felt a bit "mushy". I just didn't get a sense that the clubs were as "solid" at impact as other clubs that I've hit recently.

I haven't hit the Titliest 704CB, so I can't offer a direct comparison. But, I don't think you can pick a "bad" set with either of these companies.

I haven't hit the Clevelands, but I own the Titleists. I love them. Sweetest irons I've ever hit. Quite forgiving, but still "player-ish" enough to work the ball, if you're so inclined. I've been able to play high fades, low draws, and beautiful high straight shots. (Granted, I can also hit banana slices, duck hooks, and the occasional chunky skinny shanky topped worm-burnin' sky ball.) Played in a company tournament last Thursday, and stroked a beautiful 7-iron 170 yards to 12 feet. Felt pure in my hands.

I say go with the Titleists.
