Hybrids: 585's or Sumo??

Anyone have a preference?
Opinions or thoughts on which is the better club?

I chose 585's

17*, 21*, 24*


And my new Vokey Wedges are in the mail, cant wait to get to the course next week...

585s are suited for better players and Sumos are easy to hit. I would go for the sumo myself but considering you're a 15 handicap, you may consider trying a 585

I got a 585 but found very little forgiveness in it. It also had a dead feel and sound to it. It does look nice and is very workable but I traded it for a sumo (round version). It is easier to hit and more forgiving and has a sweet sound and feel to it too.

i had hit them both, i felt comfortable with either. i got a much better deal on the 585's so i picked them up, all 3 clubs for 180 flat is a great deal.. the sumos were gonna be 275

Never hit a 585 before.

I bought the Sumo Squared in my sig line after trying out a guys sticks on the practice range.

They are very fogiving. I was swinging like a chump today and that one club worked out okay virtually every time I used it. I got where I couldn't put it up...only stick I could trust.

Those hybrids certainly don't offer the feel of an iron.....but the forgiveness is very nice.

It will do well for you from numerous lies.

Mine was been hitting lower draws...something I didn't expect this club to pull off....but the norm is a high shot that's all carry and about the same distance as my 4 irons were on solid shots.

Ive never hit a nike hybrid, but i will confirm the 585 isnt always the most forgiving. It's the most "iron like" hybrid i have hit to this point. I can control trajectory with it, which is hard to do with most hybrids.

I'm pretty happy with my sumo but to be honest I think cleveland make the best hybrids. The reason I didn't get one is because the lofts they offer are 16 or 19* and I wanted 17 or 18*.

I hear that the Callaway Diablo hybrids are reported to be very workable yet forgiving....if I dare use those terms together.

Haven't seen one on the range or course yet....guess they are too new.

I have hit both and I would choose the Sumo if your a higher handicap. Much more forgivable.

I have the 19 degree 585 in stiff flex. I love the feel of it. The ball flight is great and it goes pretty straight. The nike is a great club, but I would have to recommend the 585 based on my experience. I really enjoy playing Titleist products after recently getting a Scotty Cameron and Vokey Wedges.
