I would be interested to see how many people are actually watching this major. It looks like there is very few people spectating.

Also christie kerr is getting heavy. Is she pregnant?

The TV networks made it difficult to watch the LPGA this weekend.

I went channel suffing late Saturday afternoon, and there was horse racing, info-mercials and some other crazy thing on the major channels. It almost seemed like the networks went out of there way to NOT show the first womens major!

What a finish... if you missed it, you missed a lot!!!

You are right. The gals still have difficulty getting TV exposure, and are underpaid for performing well (see my thread on the comparison of the Kraft Nabisco and the Houston Open).

I watched the tournament and it had a great finish with Lincicone's amazing shot to the green..................but.................
I am sure I will be accused of something............but it seems to me that lately LPGA players seem heavier and heavier (Kerr, Lincicome) and even some of the Korean ladies are looking chubby. Maybe it is my TV. Very few like Ochoa and Wie that seem to remain in the same shape.

I thought about it while watching the tournament because you do not see a 19-30yr old PGA player that is not super concerned about being in top shape and works hard at staying fit and flexible.(Villegas, Kim, the young Australian crop of players etc)

..................but.................

you hate fat people!!!!!!

I don't hate fat people but I am used to seeing young high profile athletes in every sport that make millions of dollars stay in top physical shape (tennis, basketball, PGA golf, baseball). Maybe in women's golf your skills are not affected by your size or physical condition as much as in other sports.

I agree. They should get in shape.

i tend to look down on ovreweight people and think less of them. its not a good trait, but if i'm going to be honest that's how i feel. something i need to work on.

Well, Paula and Natalie and Cristie are in good shape----------very good shape, if you ask me.

Kerr was in really good shape for a while but is slipping back. She has been much heavier in her past. I am watching more womens golf than ever. The latest crop of American golfers has brought me back. Paula, Morgan, Michele, Natalie, Christina, Brittany and many more. Definitely never been a better looking crop of female golfers than I can remember and good players too.

If you think Christie Kerr is heavy, I can't imagine what you think of gals like Christina Kim, etc. Kerr is a little heavier than she was a couple years ago, but that was needed. She was honestly too skinny back then. She is still miles skinnier than she was a decade or so ago. I think she still looks pretty nice. The same can be said for Lincicome. I definitely wouldn't call her too heavy.

As for the ratings, I'm sure they stunk it up as usual. Only Michelle Wie contending will bring ratings for the LPGA right now. I watched some on the weekend, however, and it was very good watching.

I agree with you about Cristie and Brittany. I am a big fan of the LPGA, and watch them every chance that I get. See my post about the difference in purses, and what Bobby Jones and Ben Hogan said about watching the women play golf. It may surprise some people.

They aren't as bad as softball players, and maybe female bowlers....?

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
