i used to think that this guy would be the guy to step up and challenge tiger week in week out (part of me still does) but he's just too inconsistent! he started off the day 3 back and well in the hunt but then goes and shoots 78 today to drop to 1 over! he really needs to find his game!

Just because they're pros doesn't mean they're not human. Anyone is capable of shooting bad rounds..

AKs swing is so powerful, solid, and simple looking, he is bound to have more consistency. Out of all the young golfers out there he has the greatest potential (see Augusta birdie record)

Tiger is a once in a generation player. If he gets his feel and confidence back, he will once again be in a different league compared to the rest. Challenging Tiger at his best week in and week out is impossible.

However, I fear (even though I've never been a huge Tiger fan) that we may have seen the end of Tiger's supremacy. He still just doesn't look quite right. Most athletes, don't recover 100% from that kind of lay off. If he can come back from this injury better than ever, and I probably shouldn't doubt that he can, he will confirm in my mind that he is the best ever.

Very well said. Tiger is the best I've ever seen (mind you I didn't see much of Jack) and he's pretty tough to beat.

My dad thinks the same exact thing that Tiger won't be back like he was before. But, he said the same thing about Dwayne Wade, so take that for what it's worth. Tiger is not "most athletes" and if anyone can make the comeback, he can. Wade, Peyton Manning, Steve McNair, etc. have all come back from pretty bad injuries and have done pretty well. I'm sure Tiger will be back eventually.

I think I'd read something or heard something about his shoulder or elbow being injured or something.

Plus he was awfully busy chasing the international IMG money train earlier this year... and he has a tendency (which he supposedly got over last year) of enjoying his evenings...

I've got to agree that Tiger is a once in a lifetime golfer. Unlike others, the guy is always there or there-about, even without his A-game. For example, his B-game gets him into the Top 10 of Majors (see Masters 2009). Therein lies the main difference between Tiger and the rest. When the others are "not on", they are not on the front page of the leader board, and hence the perceived lack of week-in, week-out consistency.

He probably needs another year or two of maturity. He probably won't come close to Tiger's status, but he should win a couple of majors before all said and done.

I agree! He has such a nice (perfect?) swing and he is young as well so give him a few years and he will be a dominator!

He'll come around I'm sure. He's played quite a bit overseas recently and also injured himself a couple of times doing non-golf related activities I believe.

I'd venture a guess and say he'll win one event this year.

He's like Mike Weir or Stephen Ames, he can make a lot of birdies but he can also make alot of bogies. Id agree he's pretty streaky.

    • Honestly, my three picks to win this were/are Brooks, Scottie and Rory.  Can still see Rory coming back if he plays like the first 9 where he had 2 birdies and 7 pars.  Not like his second 9 where he had 4 bogeys, one double and 4 pars.  Brooks on the other hand seems to be doing better.  Scottie sort of in between them
    • Was it so defined by a Local Rule?
    • It feels like Rory blew his load on the 18th at Augusta. Maybe everyone is underestimating how much that took out of him. Watching McGinley whaling in 'Roaddie' for not stopping by to talk to the press was bit of drag. The dude has given so many interviews and so much of himself over the years, he outghta be able to play with house money sometimes. Jeez, leave him the fak alone.
    • Some positives playing in league tonight.  1st) Making the backswing a more lateral shift, and feeling the left leg and torso resist the turn at the top of the swing is helping out a lot. I got to feel an uncomfortable amount of pause in the backswing to set up the downswing.  2) I need to do a bit of more arm stuff better. Still too much draw or pull draws for my liking.  3) Short game is getting sharp. Many tap-ins tonight. I am trying to make the shortest backswing possible for the shot. It really forces me to stay aggressive with the pivot.
    • Day 43 (12 Jun 25) - Return of the net in the backyard as I set it back up in anticipation of some work with the R10 in coming days.  Used it to hit a few iron shots into the net with the 7i before wrapping up the session with the wedges.
