Tiger Woods is getting angry. He blew up at Hank Haney at the masters. He has a habit of firing people when he's doing poorly. (Harmon, his caddie before Williams), so who's next? Williams or Haney?

I cant see him staying with Haney much longer, he needs someone to blame.

His big issue was putting, and that can't be a swing coach's problem. Yea his driving is off, but still his big problem this week so far has been putting.

Sorry, but these guys are too much with the swing coaches.

Imagine Lee Trevino or Jack Nicklaus blaming a coach for their game going sour?

They should know their own swings.

Nicklaus changes his ball flight week to week based on the course to be played for gosh sakes.

Jack Grout was visited once at the start of each season to ensure his fundamentals were sound. That's it.

I'm down to a 10 handicap. At this rate, I'll get to scratch at 90 years old!

Tiger Woods is getting angry. He blew up at Hank Haney at the masters.

And then he said later that he was over it, and he and Hank are fine. Part of Hank's job, no doubt, is to take some of Tiger's venting.

He has a habit of firing people when he's doing poorly. (Harmon, his caddie before Williams), so who's next? Williams or Haney?

Harmon was fired because Tiger didn't like that left knee move that Harmon had him doing. Fluff was fired because he talked too much. Neither was fired because Tiger was "doing poorly." Harmon coached Tiger through perhaps the greatest 1-2 year stretch we'd ever seen.

I don't think he fires anyone.

hes not firing anyone.

tiger just needs rounds under his belt, and everything will start clicking like the old tiger.

he hasnt played good at augusta since they did the re model back in 01. so it was not a shock to me that he didnt win.

he just needs to get a streak of some good rounds of putting going, build that confidence back up.

And then he said later that he was over it, and he and Hank are fine. Part of Hank's job, no doubt, is to take some of Tiger's venting.

Here's a snippet from an article I found online..

The Golf Digest article -- in which Fluff talked in detail about his compensation -- did indeed rankle Woods, but by the time that came out a divorce was probably inevitable. When Tiger turned pro Fluff was handpicked by IMG, whose brass was correct in believing Tiger needed a well-liked, veteran caddie. That he was loveable (and marketable) was a bonus. Two and a half years later Woods had outgrown Fluff. Tiger knew the courses and the towns, and Fluff's cresting celebrity was an increasing liability. Fluff brought more yahoos shouting from the gallery and impeded his man's mobility by indulging every autograph request. More damning, Fluff seemed to buy into this elevated status. The word among the caddies is that he asked for a vacation week on a date when Woods is planning to play a tournament. This is mildly outrageous, considering Tiger only plays 23 or 24 weeks a year. Also, Fluff often traveled with Woods, frequently by private plane, and he liked to bring his twentysomething fiancée along.

"One of the reasons Arnie Palmer is playing so well is that, before each final round, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them. Oh my God, what have I just said."

Tiger, the greatest golfer ever, has not hit his driver consistent for about 5 years. But he still wins more than anyone. I would love to know the inside story about his driver issues, because it's gotta be causing some major headaches in his "camp'.

Fluff != Stevie.

Tiger was Stevie's best man at his wedding.

And who would Tiger work with next? Rick Smith? David Leadbetter? Please.

Again, I don't think he's going to be firing anyone.

I think Williams is awesome, and one of the best caddies in the PGA. I didnt actually think he;d fire Williams.

But with the blowup at haney at the masters, I figured it was coming to an end with him.. didnt know they settled it.

All I know is Tiger can't seem to hit a driver to save his life, and Haney is his "swing coach"...nothing more need be said really, definitely more work needed there.

I don't understand how a guy that is supposedly a "Guru" , can't even fix the driver swing of best golfer on the planet, even though Tiger practices hard and plays everyday.

After some more time hitting full tilt he may/should regain his form, but he hits fairways like a high handicapper right now.

Gotta agree with Erik. Stevie is a caddie (and a good one to boot) and a buddy. So I doubt he's going anywhere. And unless there's a super swing coach that can straighten out his driver, who's he going to go to next?

Tiger's life is extraordinary. He has all the money in the world can go anywhere he wants yet is so confining. He has millions that adore him yet he can only trust very few. He appears to be an unshakable man, yet there is a darker side of him I feel. Something unforgiving.

    • Amazing US Open to watch. Of course I was rooting for Bryson, but a little part of me wanted a W for Rory. Hope this fuel Rory to win a major soon.  Interesting to see how much is going to take for Aberg to win his first major.  Scheffler is human, thank god.. we need more tight final rounds like this.
    • This discussion and Bryson’s media figure reminds me of a trend you see all over the place in social media and Internet in general: staging. I don’t use Instagram a whole lot, but enough to come across videos that are obviously staged, but presented as happening randomly. It falls in like with the “fake news” part of the world where you can’t trust anything. People (influencers, celebrities, politicians etc.) throws stuff out all the time that are straight up lies, pretending ignorance, or twisted to make it sound more interesting than it actually is. Then there’s the overreactions. Youtube and Instagram are filled with thumbnails of shocked content creators “LOOK WHAT HAPPENED 🫣😲🫣”, then it’s some staged or stupid shit. I miss the time when most of what you found online was not staged or stupid. The sad part is that it works, generate clicks, ad revenue and people make millions on that stuff. At least Bryson is primarily a professional golfer. Bryson raking the 18th bunker while holding the trophy puts more of his face in the media. There’s no reason to do it, but it makes for some good photos and he’s building his persona. From the entire week you can see how he interacts with the audience way more than most of them out there. Part of it is probably just being Bryson and giving the audience something extra, but I always have the thought in the back of the head that it’s not the entire reason. Players being emotional, engaging and showing more of themselves than hitting a golf ball is good, but at some point you cross the line into being fake for the sake of attention.
    • It's not false if all they did was break ground but not build the thing until 2017. Again, the first "location" wasn't really a location if it was some dirt with a few ceremonial shovel scoops taken out of it. I don't think it was ever actually built. The second article doesn't even mention the first "location."
    • I couldnt find anything saying the first one was canceled so I assumed it was the same project. Admittedly the info on the specifics is limited. Either way, the original point of the earlier tweet by the guy was that no Payne Stewart named center was announced when Bryson started at SMU. Thats factually false. The fact that it ended up somewhere else is somewhat irrelevant imo. The two locations are only 10 miles apart as far as I can tell?
