WOW is all I can say... I don't do the youtube thing but I did upload the video to my site. Let me know if the link doesn't work. And tell me what you think.

Swing Video

I'm guessing your instructor is going to move you a bit closer to the ball. Beyond that, blerg, I really hate YouTube videos for swing diagnosis - no frame by frame, etc. So I'll leave it at that and let the others try.

Agree. Appears that you're reaching a bit and that accounts for your imbalance at the end of the swing. That's about all I can tell as well.

Besides a little bit of reach at address, which has been mentioned, it looks like you're pulling your right leg back on your backswing- maybe even locking the knee (kinda hard to tell). Doing this gets you on your heels at the top and forces you to correct on the downswing which is where you fight your balance. Try to keep your right knee stable through the top of the backswing- you want to turn against it to create resistance. You'll feel a pull on the inside of your right knee if you do it correctly.

Also... can't really tell from the angle, but it seems like your stance is closed but your shoulders are open at address.

I agree.. Just buy looking you should try and move closer to the ball and just pick the shaft of the driver up a bit. This should help you balance your self out

I pulled it off my camera as a .dv file. Then I encoded it as an avi with handbrake. Then just uploaded it to youtube which coverted it to the flash file I assume

The ones on my site are still avi's and better quality. If you need help with any part of that I can try

I kinda got that also, I think I'll try to improve the angle of the camera next time.

I'm also going to focus on posture and getting a little closer to the ball

Amazing what a day does.. Stood closer to the ball today, more upright, concentrated on keeping my left elbow in and really was MUCH more consistent all the way through the bag. New videos to come on Thursday

I don't believe you are an 18 handicap, your short game must suck.

18 is an uneducated guess (since I can't leave it blank).. I really don't have a clue what it is and certainly don't want to guess too low. in 03-04 when I played a lot pre shoulder injury and kept a handicap on yahoo handicap calculator (don't know how official that is) it was around a 9-10.

My shortgame is the best part of my game.. It's just the OB tee shot that kills me

I feel that you are very upright and that could use some flex in your knees to allow your lower body to really coil through your swing. This should force you to get a little bit closer as well and really hit down on the ball with increased swing speed.

Your interval/waggle is really really long. you look down, look up, reset, look down, set your feet, look up, look down, regrip....

Exactly what I was thinking. My first impressions were the same as everyone else. Stand closer and try and use your legs a little more. My first thought was the alignment, feet looked closed. May have been the camera angle.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I think the camera angle had a little bit to do with the alignment look. I had a light pole to contend with.

And I normally don't waggle that much. When I work on something new I have to feel "comfortable" so to speak so that's just me wrapping my brain around what's changing

Hoping for new video tonight if the rain holds off. I've moved closer to the ball, straightened my back some and bent my knees more. Felt really good Tuesday so we'll see if I can repeat that effort tonight

You have crystallized my thoughts!

I never understood loooong preshot routines. I played with a guy Saturday, I swear by the 18th hole if I had to watch one more waggle I was gonna club him with my driver. I timed him (one mississippi, two mississippi...), 43 misisisippi's from "your turn" to impact..... JEEEESH! Multiply that X 60.... Anyway to the OP. You look like you have pretty good fundamentals, don't overthink the shot, let it happen.
