My Google search gave me a geekgolf-clubs.com site. Thanks for the good address.

"The resulting ball flight will be more boring with a flatter trajectory and more roll!"

I disagree completely. I believe it was Golf Digest who had an article proving that higher ball flight produces a longer drive. The resulting "roll" from a low trajectory ball flight doesn't compensate for the carry of the higher trajectory ball flight.

Wind was not taken into account in their study.

Show me what exactly your speaking about, I don't follow. Different folks get different results and the shaft plays a big part. The head is designed for lower spin, but my combo gives be a mostly carry trajectory with very little roll.

Just want to say, I have been doing some research on the geek drivers, I was interested in them, wasn't sure what model I would be interested in or where to buy. I went to the geek website (the actual one) and sent an email for an information request.

No more then 30 minutes later I got a call from Steve Almo (owner, designer, etc...basically he is geek golf. We spoke for about 10 minutes, he answered the questions I had, helped me choose the FS3 (the one designed for more carry), helped me pick a loft, and even gave a couple shaft recommendations.

Also gave me a distributor to call that would make sure I got a good deal.

I obviously haven't gotten a chance to hit the club, but the customer service so far has been 2nd to none. I will post my thoughts on the club but if the playing experience is half as good as the buying experience has been I will tickled.

Thought I'd contribute some thoughts on my latest driver setup as they'd seem relevant....

Purchased a Fail Safe 3 head ( images at exactly 10.5°, 201g, dead-square, USGA/R&A-legal;) which was handpicked for me by the people at BigHitGolf.com (U.K.'s official Geek supplier; great service!) and picked up a Graphite Design YSQst 75S shaft to go in it. Lifetime guarantee against breakage as well if bought from official outlets. Installed (playing length 45.5") and used it in anger yesterday.

One word....awesome. Now for some more words as to the reason why....

First up, the head has a traditional kind of shape at address and its black finish frames the ball nicely. The head, although being 460cc, is deep-faced so it looks a lot smaller than many other 460cc heads out there. Some interesting ridges on the crown (something to do with energy and distance...whatever!) but I quickly got used to them.

Low-to-mid-launch (at least with the YSQst in it anyway) with massive carry, noticeably more carry than my old favourite Titleist 983E. Overall distance was maybe a few yards longer than my 983E (not significant) but it was pretty much all carry. Not an accurate average but well in excess of 250 yards and one or two up near the 275-285 mark....almost all carry as well...on wet fairways...on a November day...air temperature about 10°C.

Über forgiving and soooo easy to hit. I've not been a big fan of the modern, 460cc heads (look too big at address for me) even if they are forgiving. I'm a convert now and this head doesn't look too big to boot! It lives up to its name....fail safe. Heel strikes lost a bit of distance but were pretty straight. Toe strikes were almost as long as striped contacts but had a bit more run-out. Striped impacts were awesome - beautiful solid feeling rockets. Interestingly, the head has a titanium-copper-nitride (I think!) cure on it which has the interesting side-effect of leaving a (temporary) impact mark on the face...built in impact tape! The impact sound wasn't bad either - not quite as sweet as my Titleist but certainly no "tin can" noises here. Not too loud either.

Very workable head as well. Could pretty much get a big fade or a nice draw at will. Could hit a high or a low ball reasonably reliably as well. May not always be the case but was swinging very well yesterday.

Accuracy, accuracy, accuracy! Well, this is the big one for me. I average maybe 40-60% fairways with my Titleist 983E. Not bad, but not brilliant. The FS3 on Sunday gave me >70% and even the misses were only a matter of being in the first cut. You know how sometimes you feel like you can't miss? Well, I really like that with a driver.

So, how did I score? Well, I had five birdies and as my irons were on as well (some interesting Stack and Tilt swingthoughts here which bear further examination for certain!), I had quite a few more chances. There has to be a cloud on the horizon though doesn't there? 37 putts!! 37!!!! Argh! Missed 3 from inside 4 feet as well and I can't even really blame the greens...much as I'd like to!!! Could and should have been gross 2 or 3 under; as it was, merely played to my current (4) handicap. Golf: a game of "if's, but's and maybe's"!

A word on the shaft. If you're thinking of a new driver shaft you could do worse than look at this Graphite Design YSQst. I used the 75g version (I lose tempo with lighter shafts) and was a bit worried it might be a tad tip-stiff. No such worries. Really, really stable. The 2.4° torque and stable tip are a great match with this head. I could really smack the ball and the control stayed in place. Great feel as well...like all GD shafts.

So, I doubt I'll ever go back to a "standard" OEM driver; it really is that good. As an added bonus, it cost me less than half the price of the latest OEM drivers at their R.R.P. Bargain!

This is one honeymoon I hope doesn't end anytime soon. I took a punt on this setup but I'm really glad I did!

The FS3 10.5° I just acquired does - wouldn't have bought it otherwise. Just pulled the trigger on a DCT 3-wood well

Hi guys

I'm an independent clubmaker, in Bordeaux, France. I've been playing golf since the age of 12, and I am now 40 ...

Anyaway, I think I must have been one of the first to try the DCT (in France). It was 4 years ago, and I was having the hardest times to lower my ball flight. Hence, after some research, Geek and the DCT.

Well, after 4 years, this driver is still in my bag.

I have first tried the Proforce V2 75S, then an Aldila NV 65S, and finally found the perfect combo with an old Grafalloy Blue (the originl 63grams) in stiff.

My SS is around 105 / 110, fast tempo, late release.

Average carry in spring summer : 260 meters, total around 290 meters

Last sunday, 5°C outside, first tee : 250 carry.

I have tried a bunch of drivers and I can tell you this thing will not easily leave my bag.

It's straighter than any other driver I have tried in my life, much lower ball flight (I play a 9° of loft), and definitely longer.

I am just curious about their new head (the "No Brainer") which is 206 grams and said to increase ball speed. A friend of mine who is also a clubmaker told me this head was a beast.

My two cents !
