Shot 71 on the par 73 18 (70.7/133) at my home track today. Carded 4 birdies, one double, and 13 pars for the round. Here's how it looked by the numbers:

Total: 71
Putts: 30
Fairways: 10/14
GIR: 15/18
Up/Down: 2/3

I was actually at even par coming into 16 and birdied 16, hit a 20 footer on 17' to save par after badly mishitting the tee shot into the trees, and stuck a 5i to about 4 feet on 18 to finish with a bird. Talk about a reversal from my usual self destruction when coming down to the wire on a personal best!

Nicely done, congratulations! You've achieved one of my most important golfing objectives. I wonder how long it will take me to accomplish the same feat.

I've recently got my driver under control, hitting some pure shots earlier this evening at the range. Hopefully it won't be much longer until I can achieve the same results you have

2011 Goals:
* Improve club-head speed to 90 mph with the driver
* Ensure increased speed does not compromise accuracy
* Prevent overextending on the back-swing (left-arm is bending too much at the top)
* Relax arms initially at address ( too tense)* Play more full rounds (failed from 2010)

Congrat.

I had broken even par few times about 15 years ago and now it's once-a-year event. I played Worthington Manor GC today and was 1 under til 16th and trippled and bogeyed at 17th and 18th. What a bummer.

Sweet, man. I hope to get to a 5 handicap by the end of summer...will be a longshot and a ton work but I'm determined to do it. That's a great round by you...

After good rounds I never feel like playing the next few days because I feel it will only be a disappointment!

Lol. Not only was it a double, it was an UGLY double. Drive pushed right into the trees, then the punch out clipped a tree and ended up in a mud puddle. Splashed it out of the mud into another mud hole. Chopped it from there up to the greenside rough, and then got up and down for the 6. Definitely would liked to have had that adventure of a hole back!
