Why do the announcers dance around the issue of why so many Korean women are winning and while none of them are dominant, why are there so many. The mens announcers don't duck the same issue about why the Australians have been so successful lately. I realize that there has been some resentment expressed by a certain former LPGA player. Discussing why they are successful could help players from USA develop there games. Especially since there is a good crop coming up now.

why they're succesful? no need to discuss. It's their dedication to the game, starting playing golf early, grooming young players to potential high preformance. Hard work is part of far eastern countries mentality - and hard work can get you a lot in golf. Passion and dedication to the game adds just enough to create a perfect mix, golf in Korea is like soccer in South America - not quite a religion, but damn close

GO KOREA, futbol in korea is quite the sport, when you said south america for futbol, that is the same in korea, golf is only for the rich or really dedicated in korea because to play golf, the cheapest 9 hole is probably 150$$.

I'm not sure all the korean players making a career on LPGA tour grew up in their home country, they all play college golf in US and the huge korean population living in US is definitely (in numbers) very much into golf

When I was in Korea, the Pueblo was just taken....... (For those of you who might remember the Pueblo, it was a definate set up by the U.S. Government, my onsite opinion)

Korea didn't even know what a golf club was at that time. I was stationed in Japan and they were just starting to get into golf. I played all thru Pacaf and believe me, the Koreans and Japanese DEDICATE themselves to whatever they attempt.

I have great respect for the Asian people after living there for 3 years.

When I put up my LPGA props, I have a hello of a time spelling their names and when I do, I always think of the first tee of the tournament and the announcer. He must go nuts announcing them.

I'll tell you one thing, they are not all that bad looking and I have noticed over the years that their "bustline" has gotten bigger. Must be the american food they're eating over here because fish and rice don't do it. (if only my high school english teacher could hear me now )

I've been to many an LPGA tourny and they hit the ball as far as the average PGA tour pro. More accurate too.

A lot of the Korean women started out in another sport like softball and then when they saw the money they can make here, bingo

I've seen a lot of them up close and trust me, I'd take any one of them 2 out of 3 falls.

You ain't seen nothing yet

I live down here in Costa Rica. I came here 7 years ago for a short vacation before completing some work in the US. After being here a week and seeing what I saw.....I Stayed....case closed

And I've enjoyed every minute of it. I'll post some pics of shelley's friends, they're even better looking than Shelley. This place is unbelievable

Let me ask you this, if you walked into a restuarant with a 21 year old drop dead gorious girl, in the States, what would happen. You'd be locked up in a heart beat if you were over 55 years old.........or, they might think it's your granddaughter,,,,,,until you started kissing her..... , that's when they'd call the cops

And talk about attitude. Totally different than the US. Here, now I dont' want to get risque, but as you know in the US, when you take a girl out, you always "wonder" if you're going to "score". Here, there's no wondering, if you don't "score", word gets around that you are cold and unloving. The girls here won't go out with you again......this is true as I know true to be.

Thank God for Viagra

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
