Can a round ever be too short? I have never played 18 in less than 3 hours walking by myself. It takes me about 3.5 on a hilly KY course being the first person on the course. Don't do this much anymore because of work. I really have no desire to play as quick as possible. If I play as a foursome walking takes about 4.25 hours. I dislike slow play but I also dislike impatient people. I would rather play a good 18 than a hurried 27.

Played 18 at Whispering Woods on Saturday with Joe (ERC7.5) and another fellow. Teed off at 9:50am, round felt like it took FOREVER, we waited on the threesome in front of us on virtually every shot, and when we got done, we saw it had taken only 4 hours (well, just under 4:10).

To those who think 4:00 is fast, get real.

You have to hit it back and forth across the course more and try missing a green or two.

The nice thing about my course is the fact that there is three 18 hole courses, albeit one is an executive. I played the first two holes on the Eagle course waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I noticed that the Hawk course was wide open, so I jumped to #4 and played in and didn't catch anyone until the 9th.

I usually ride so but i can play 9 with a 2some in about 90 minutes and 18 in 3-3.5 hours, though the courses around here might be shorter than in some other areas, 400 yds is long for a par 4 and 500 yd par 5's, the length of the course is obviously going to be a factor in how long it takes to play. I once played 9 holes in about 50 minutes playing by myself with a cart, but i doing really good that day, and have played 18 in 2 1/2 hours by myself and had to wait and allow people to let me go ahead of them, empty course, might have made it in 2 hours.
