Trying to decide on a new vokey lob wedge to make some pitch shots easier from firm fairways (my sw is 56/14). Should I go with 60/4 or 60/7? Doesnt seem like it would make that much of a difference to me, im leaning toward going with the 4 just because my main reason for getting it is to get something different than my sw, so why not go as different as possible right? any opinions?

I thought the choices were 4 or 8 degrees, maybe the 7 is something new?

I guess it depends on what you mean by firm fairways. I've got 8 degrees on mine and can't really think of any time I've felt like I needed less.

My cleveland 60 is 8* bounce and I play in SE Florida with tight fairway lies. I would say Texas should be similar and 8* would work. My 52 is 10* and my 56 is 14*

I used a Cleveland 60.03 eariler on a course with hard fairways. I've changed it to a 58.12, changed the way I hit my wedges and I'm hitting it better than ever.

It depends a lot on how you swing it, but normally you'll want to hit the ball first, so the bounce doesn't really matter. I use the bounce for high-lofted shots and can do it off any lie. Easiest is the ball sitting up a bit, but I've practiced a lot of hard pan lies and it works great, even with 12º bounce.

Are you a digger or slider btw?

bit of a slider with my wedges, i tend to catch the ground a little with the bounce of my 56/14 when trying to really open up the face for a flop and bounce into the ball which obviously leads to a bad result :/ so i would probably use the sw for wedge shots with more than a half swing or three quarter swing, and the lw for anything close to flop it up and stop it close. then i would probably use the sw again out of the bunker unless the sand is thick/wet.

I had the same thoughts when picking out a Vokey lob wedge this spring. My sand wedge has al of bounce so I went with the 4• bounce, 60• loft and I couldn't be happier. I almost never find myself hitting ths club fat and the grind on the sole is great for opening up the face for some pretty flop shots! Definitely go with the 4• bounce!!!

I couldn't agree more with the bold statement....but I find myself skulling quite a bit morewith my Vokey SP 60-04 than with my 60.08 Zevo. I'm thinking about changing mine for a 60-07 or 60-08.

I do have to say, than when properly struck...this club with these spec (60-04) is very nice, ball spin great, and bites even better!!!!
It's the indian, not the arrow! But it sure is nice to have good arrows!!!!!

    • Day 39: did top golf for an hour with the family. It was fun but also not really like real golf at all. Also did some mirror work - working on the backswing stuff mostly.
    • Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.
    • Day 143 1-2 Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.
    • Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).
    • Day 31 (2 Jan 26) - Usual Friday men’s group shootout - good day of shot making  as most shots were right on line to the target point.  Putter and green reads were solid with some great par saves and a really tricky birdie.
