Very Odd: The Sand Trap keeps changing my handicap, lol

Ok, Ok. It's happened to me twice now. When I joined I listed my handicap as "0-99", somewhat as a joke and somewhat for real, because 'caps do fluctuate. And I hope to be at TST for a while..lol. Twice now it has mysteriously changed itself (once to 22, once to 34.3, both not me!) Wondering why that is. Is it some sort of glitch?? Is someone F'ing with me??

So I ran my #'s online and apparently I'm a 9.4. Only been playing 4 seasons (+half year at the range first), never been officially hndcp'd and always assumed it was higher, maybe mid teen. I play mostly at a 74.3/135 par 72 and shoot mid 80's, sometimes I shoot low. I was never concerned with a handicap and didn't bother because I didn't want to get discouraged. I just play the dang game. Now I may reconsider...

I don't imagine why anyone with the power to change your handicap would care enough to do so, and I doubt that a bug in the software's doing it.

I have put in place a regular expression that should prevent such "0-99" type handicaps from being listed - only numbers and decimal points (and a + sign) are allowed. So... I dunno. And wouldn't this have been better suited as a PM? 9.4 isn't bad. Congrats on being in the top whatever percentage of golfers with handicaps. Edit: checked... top 20%.

Thanks for the info, yeah should have been a PM but wasn't completely sure you ran the show, only been here a month. No excuse, should have known, lol. If you can erase the whole darn thread, I don't mind ... I hope I didn't come off sounding like it really mattered why, didn't care that much, i was laughin actually.. ;)
