The dream foursome thread got me thinking. Everyone would love to play Augusta, Pine Valley, etc...

What would you be willing to do to actually be able to?

The other day I said I would give my left you know what, to play augusta, and I believe I would stand by that...as long as my right one worked. I would easily give up a kidney too.

That a good question Rusty, I would be careful to give up too much, don't get me wrong, I'd absolutely love to play Augusta National but I think that when it was all said and done if I had to turn around and give up much of my normal life I'm not sure it would be worth it....that being said....my pinkie finger on my left hand in about 2 seconds!

  • 2 weeks later...
I hear you Rusty, I would definately do the same if the other was completely functional, I would give up the other one too if Tiger was thrown into the mix... wow, did I just say that?

I'd give up cigarettes. Oh wait, I don't smoke...

The only nasty addiction I have is golf. At least that's what my wife says.

Fairways and Greens.

most of the responses are in form of a joke giving how unreal the idea is.. But a bit on the serious note - Pebble Beach has the most expensive cost of play (with a overnight stay -which is required- a round will cost you about $900) - what is a "reasonable" price to play Augusta? It's hard to cut it off and say $1000 is ok, but $1100 is too much... After all - it's just a golf course... pretty, history, the Masters, etc - but it's just a golf course.
With $1000 green fee I'm in. Anything more - count me out. I'd rather go for a week of golf to Myrtle Beach

Dave - wife calling golf "a nasty addiction" is a PERFECT candidate of something you could give up...

That's kind of why I went with the 'give up' option. There are a lot of wealthy people who would like to be members at Augusta and aren't so greens fees weren't really what I was going for. Not to mention $1000 to you may be like $100 to me or $10 to someone else, wealth and money are all relative.
