Mizuno or Vokey wedges...

I have two spin milled vokeys, and i need to get a third wedge, a 50ish degree gap wedge.

I have mizuno irons, and i like to stay with the same brand of stuff, but i have never hit the mizzy wedges.... what does everyone think of them? Worth the switch if i could trade my 54 and 58? Or should i just get the 50 vokey and call it done?

Personally I prefer Mizunos because of the softer feel. They perform similarly though.

what about weight? I know that titleists are heavier wedges compared to callaway x forged. also, are the mp-r's for more advanced players?

My son has three mp=t's and I have vokeys. I think they're both good but I am partial to the vokeys. You can't go wrong either way.

I've played tons of wedges, I must say Vokeys are the "scotty camerons" of wedges. Their price refelcts it.

I've been playing Vokeys this season and just ordered

two MP-T wedges from Budgetgolf.net for $132 shipped I've never seen Vokey's dip below $110 for a brand new wedge. I've heard great things about them and I'm looking forward to dialing down the distances and taking them to the course. They'll go along nicely with my MP-67 irons

I perfer the MP-R series then the MP-T. You can find a used MP-R for about $40 on ebay if your lucky.

I have a couple of MP-T wedges at the moment.

Although I've used both Vokey and Cleveland in the past, I'd say I'm more comfortable with the Mizunos. Great clubs with great feel.

You are comparing two of the best wedges on the market. While there may be differences in feel from one to another, ultimately, both brands make great wedges and you won't miss out by buying any of them.

Since you've already got SM wedges, I'd recommend getting another one of those. If you have a lot of cash to spend, you might sell the SMs and get Mizzy of course, it's your call, the clubs are great regardless of what you do.

What loft is your PW btw? I'd assume it's 46 since you want a 50º wedge. If you've got a 48º wedge, I don't see that it's necessary with a 50º.

what's the difference between teardrop and round besides looks? any performance difference?

I am about 99% sure there is no difference in the playability in the "R" and the "T". Just the look of them. Some people prefer a rounded look and some prefer the teardrop look, so they made each.

Can't speak on the MP-T/R but I can speak about the MP-Series. I've read a few reviews stating that the swing weight of the MP-T/R is light compared to the Vokey's. I found just the opposite with the MP's. To me they feel to have a heavier swing weight. I like mine….but I'm sure I would have liked Vokey's too if they were in my bag. Can't compare spin, I sent my 56* and 60* out for sq grooves plus I sharpen them often.
