Dude's 59, just had a hip replacement and averaged 299 in the first round. That gives me some hope that I can get up to that distance, being 32 and 6'3". Only 25 yards to go. Anyone else feel hope?

Yeah, not sure what the buzz is about. Tiger averaged like 290 a few years ago when he mostly hit 3-irons off the tees.

He is still 10 yards past the field avg. (288) I would say that's pretty impressive.

Last weekend my uncle in late 50's drove it 300, It was 308 to center green and he landed it in line with the pin a couple yeards right of the green. I double checked it with my GPS and it confirmed the distance. I was amazed. Concidering he has only played 3 times since his 8 year break from golf I thought it was worth a mention. Gave me hope to put one that long

In my Golf bag

Because he is hitting driver and getting lucky not to hit the fairway bunkers. Most of those guys are hitting irons off the tee. Not to take anything away from him, but if TW can't win it, Old TW winning it would be epic.

Yeah, he's like +something. Not sure on the exact score. He's probably lower in driving average since he can hit probably like a 6i, wedge into the green. Alright, maybe I'm exagerating a little bit.

A buddy of mine followed Tom in the Tuesday practice round at Augusta this year. He was the last guy on the course. They stood behind him at 18 tee when Tom crushes one down the middle. He turns around and says, "wow, that was long."

Apparently it still feels good to crush one after 50 or so years of golf and a handful of majors.

I love Watson's swing too, so bummed when he lost the 91' Masters to Woosie.

Watson has kept himself in great physical shape (much like Norman) and still hits the ball very pure. His putter has been giving him fits for decades. I absolutely would NOT be surprised to see him stick around the leaderboard over the weekend.
