I've been thinking about my putting setup lately, watching the Open today I thought I'd adress this topic.

It looks like a setup with a lot of knee bend is less stable than one with less bend in the legs and more tilted torso.

This can also affect ball position. I've seen different opinions on it, some want it directly under the left eye, some an inch or two further away from the body. The more tilted over you are, the closer to the torso the ball will be.

Any thoughts here?

when I putt I look like Arnold Palmer.

A giant Arnold Palmer who is crouched over even more. it seems to work for me. bent knees and bent torso slightly leaning back on right foot to help see the line and then look at the ball at impact dont lift or move head etc.

exact same, tho it puts a little stress on my back. But the bent over feel helps me control the club and follow my line more then any other stance.

yea it may look funny as hell, but being 6-3+ , the closer i get to the ball the more comfortable i feel.

The best is when better golfers make fun of my style, (it probably looks funny with being tall) this part of my game isnt the part giving me a 21HI. I had a 10HI cry about aerated greens 2 weeks ago and he started calling me Hightower(police academy) because he thinks the clubs are too small for me(bending over) I actually keep my right index on the metal of my putter below the grip. I think i was at 30 putts that round. He was over 40. Dont ask how i shot a 98.

At 5'2 I'm on the short side but I found a 32" putter put too much stress on my lower back. The 33" putter kept me a tad more upright to save the back. I just can't look like Jack Nicklaus when I'm putting without reaching for the Advil.

i stand straight at the knees, and bend my torso, but i cant putt to save my life. does the way i'm standing really affect me? I have major issues with speed, I dont know if thats due to my stance or not...
