Do Golf Store simulators Lie?

I hit a 337 yard 6i at golf galaxy once.

I can go to 3 or 4 different bays at PGA superstore, and I'll hit up to 40 or 50 yards different in each one. I think they just get uncalibrated, and can show either long or short. I don't think they set them up to make your drives longer intentionally, or at least the closest golfsmith and PGA superstore don't.

I don't think they "LIE" but a lot of them are not calibrated correctly. Some simulators, you need to have the logo of the ball facing a certain way and the its very picky as to where you place the ball. I've gone to Dick's and hit a 6-iron about 200 yards, then went to Golf Galaxy to hit it only 170 yards. I find my Golf Galaxy to resemble my distances pretty accurately.

Maybe they should call them Golf Stimulators instead - they stimulate you to take your wallet out
