This question arised during a conversation about the golf grip and swing in general with a few friends.

I'd like to know why, when one swings a club it gets stuck which then produces a block.

Several things. For me sometimes it's when the clubhead (rather than my hands) is too deep.

If you are a person that comes way from the inside on the downswing you will be susceptible to the "block".

For me, its when my hips don't turn and that gets my arms bunched up...or stuck

for me, it's shifting or getting my shoulders going before my hands drop from the top. A tempo too quick from the body.
