Couple of years ago. I hit a poor bunker shot. Climbed out of the bunker and swung my wedge at the sole of my shoe to knock the sand from it. In my somewhat PISSED OFF state, I probably overswung just a bit, and my aim wasn't quite what it should have been.........I missed my shoe and caught that little hard bump thingy on the inside of my left ankle. I went down like someone had hit me with an axe-handle. My buddies laughed so hard they almost wet themselves.........

I have also done this and it hurts like hell.

Broke my arm mini golfing

I was playing mini golf with my family on vacation when my then 4 year old nephew accidentally whacked his 6 year old brother above the eye with his putter, by just aimlessly swing the club around between holes. There was great drama-- blood, screaming kinds, screaming parents, the whole nine yards. Looking back it's kinda funny.

One time a guy at my club had a lie right behind a tree root and thought he could play the ball from where it lay. The ball bounced off the root and caught him in the forehead, knocking off his hat and producing a nice welt. Unfortunately I wasn't there to witness it, but seeing the knot on his head was enough to make me think twice whenever I end up behind a root myself. It's a dangerous sport, golf.

This is not funny but it happened about 6 hours ago. A young kid who works at our club was playing this afternoon with a few of his buddies. He hit a wedge shot that spun off the green, and in anger he smashed the wedge against the post of the golf cart. The wedge snapped in half and a 6 inch piece of shaft penetrated his abdomen. Luckily my buddy was on call and 3 hours later they saved this kids life. He cut his small intestine in 3 places, punctured his bladder and cut his iliac artery. He was about 10 minutes from death.

Chipping and putting on the 6th hole on our course because the group in front of us was sooo slow, and there was no one behind us. I decided to practice a couple bunker shots (because watching me hit out of a bunker is like watching a back-hoe at work)

I step into the bunker and my friend gabe is putting about 15 feet to the left of the pin in front of me. First bunker shot was perfect, stopping about 2 feet from the pin. Second, not so much. Skulled it bad and the ball ricocheted off the tree behind the green, and hit the back of his leg, knocking him down. Oh wait, wait. More leg-related pain to come

I said my sorry's and said it wouldn't happen again. Oh really? 3rd bunker shot wasn't that bad, but I yelled "gabe look out!" a little too late. Smacked into his thigh.

From now on, gabe either takes cover behind the cart when I'm in a bunker, or stands a good 20 yards behind me.

I would have to say that this one takes top prize! That is terrible!
