It is only beneficial if they work better than anything else you have tried. Some people are brand loyal. Some just have OCD and have to have everything match. Some people like the symetry. Some don't care what name is on the club as long as it works.

Now that ive purchased a titliest x86 bag, i am now a complete brand bitch. lol.. But for me, im just comfortable with the way the clubs look and perform. Ive hit many other types of clubs and liked them, ( the callaway FT9 tour driver is the s**t) but i always end up purchasing titliest. I get a little paranoid about unknown elements when im throwin down hundreads of dollars.

The answer is NO. That is not to say there is anything wrong with it, but there is no benefit to your game.

I've done it before....and without really thinking about it....just happened.


First time was in 1996 when I had an all Callaway bag (w/Odyssey putter...don't know if they owned them at the time?).

Next was 1999, had an all Titleist set (13 clubs).

Then, a few years later I was playing PING irons & putter and added their woods when they came out with the TiSI driver and fairway woods. To date, that was one of the best distance drivers I've every owned. It was nasty. I suspect it was also during the period of time when my swing was at it's best.


Like a previous poster stated...no real benefit in doing so unless you just believe each club is the best for you.

i like using different brands, i assembled my bag using the brands i like and all my clubs work perfect for me!

and it cost me next to nothing, my bag i got from my neighbor's widow(when people die, you get there junk for free!)...
my wedges i got from my moms boss(hand me downs)
my putter i got at a garage sale for $5... getting a new grip for it cost more then the actual club..LOL
and i got my irons and driver used so they were fairly inexpensive

Look at it this way: if there were some advantage, you'd see lots of professionals doing this. As is, I can't think of more than a small handful that have a fully matching bag.

Now, mix-and-match within a set of irons is probably not the greatest idea: AP1s and MP-57s might or might not match. And certainly not if you're mixing odds and evens instead of high and low.

A wood and iron won't feel the same anyways, if a Cobra iron set and Cobra woods happen to fit you perfectly, it's a coincidence.

To be completely honest, nike clubs didn't initially really appeal to me...then I tried them out! The entire range really suited me...shockingly enough, more so than the Callaway Big Berthas and TaylorMade Burners. So I bought the entire set! ...let's not forget the OCD

Like the others said, there is no advantage to having all the same brand of clubs in your bag.
If a club works for you, its a keeper regardless of what brand it is.
