Let's put the issue about whether Snake Eyes or, as our esteemed member enduro claims, all component manufacturers are glorified "Clones" to bed.

One cool thing I found when I googled Snake Eyes is that Smith & Wesson did (or does) produce heads for Snake Eyes.

I just purchased my first set of clubs and love them as far as starter sets go. Ram G-force's. I've read terrible reviews but had great success with them last weekend. I have played more golf this year (10 rounds so far) than ever before. Previously I was using a set that was my Grandpa's from around the time he was in Vietnam. Blades and REAL woods. Putter looked like I jacked it from a miniature golf course. :) He's also shorter than me by about 4-5 inches so getting a set of actual irons (not blaeds) at a decent length actually enabled me to get the ball off the ground. So far I love them. I'm just in the stages now of trying to get my swing so I wasn't gonna ride my cousins coat tails and get a set of custom Taylormade's. :)

Anyways, I like them. There are definitely better clubs, but there are worse clubs too. I'm just glad to have a set made in this decade. :)

BTW, name's Randy. Nice to meet you all and look forward to gaining tips and info.

Wilson Staff generally don't get enough appreciation.

I'm already in love with the Yes! Tracy putter I bought not so long ago, but you wouldn't hear the praise over the yells of "Sco-tty! Sco-tty!".

How does that 8 year old article put anything to bed? I really could care less (not much, but a little) whether or not they're clones, but I'm just sayin'.

MacGregor. Very sad to see this company struggle and be sold off to Golfsmith. Some of the greats swung their sticks.

My thought also. From 02 on they put out quality stuff, but IMO their chroming process wasn't that good.

I love my 1025 mb V-foils, but I'm a traditionalist

Tour Edge. They are a local Chicagoland company that's been around for about 20 years or so. Many think they make a very good product for very reasonable prices. I agree. Lifetime warranty included.

My bag is now, except for the putter, all Tour Edge.

Bridgestone.

They make sick clubs - forged from 1020 mild carbon steel (same steel as the AP2).
They make great balls.

Yonex, Wilson Staff, Nickent, Srixon.

Yonex isnt all the popular here in north america....dunno why but honestly i would trust their technology in every way because i play competitive badminton and all my products are yonex. Theyve been making badminton, tennis, and golf equipment for many years, so im sure they know what they're doing, 100 percent. Their Nano technology is sickk, and using that kind of material in most of their sporting goods is a good shout out to the other brands out there.

Poor Wilson staff...=(....and I'd love to see more professionals use Nickent...and there's a good reason why Jim Furyk uses Srixon =(

and enduro, i hate to say it your dumb and completly wrong.. Snake Eyes does not make clones or copy other companies ideas.. they make clubs of their own and from their ideas.im not getting "defensive" im just saying you need to do your research before you start to point the finger.

yah golfsmith puts quite a few dollar bucks into R&D; for Snake Eyes/Golfsmith products.

They're original designs , lets be honest people ... how many different ways can you create a forged Blade ? Apex Irons Obviously are Clones of MP Blades...
