the "...out walks this afr - uh - - out walks this linebacker..." in joke #3 was an obvious attempt to filter his thoughts, but it still kind of slipped out.

As soon as the words african american get uttered it becomes a race issue. Then people wonder why none of these guys are ever candid, every time they say something it gets scrutinized. My opinion is that Phil is the absolute man. Got a chance to walk with him during his practice round at Doral, awesome dude. Hope his wife and mom make a full recovery.

It plays off of stereotypes. And while a lot of stereotypes might be at least slightly grounded in reality, the idea of "large, black men" all being "scary and dangerous" probably is one of the dumber ones out there.

I like Phil as a golfer...to hell with the odds, I'm going to hit the shot!

The jokes sucked. He's out of touch, but as one of the best golfers ever to play I guess he gets a pass since he is above the rim (no disrespect to Phil, but he doesn't know).

He's never had to frame a house, drywall, install appliances... with large african american guys, mexican guys, puerto rican guys, etc...

I give him a 50-50, he tried his best to connect with the fans, but joke #2 and #3 was not funny.
