Driver distance qustion

how much distance can a driver not fitted to your swing cost you? i feel i am losing a lot of distance.im hitting it in the swet spot its just not going.can someone help me??

At your handicap I'd think you'd be gaming sticks that fit. If not then you may be dangerous when you get the right fit.


Everyone is different, I can only say what didn't work for me. I had a driver that was too stiff and I hit a lot of very low bullets that bled to the right.

I've also recently had a driver that was too flexable and lost many shots very high and left.

Well, "very high" is an interesting indicator of kick point. You might want to go get fitted for a driver. If you're intending to buy a new one, most companies will fit you for their product for free at fitting days. Or you could probably attend a demo day and find out what you'd fit into in a similar driver.

Whatever you do, don't just go to a big golf store and ask whoever is on hand to fit you. You'll just find out you happen to fit what they've got laying around for sale.

I went from a 55g 10.5* driver to a 65g 9.0* and gained about 20 yards.

I broke my stock driver shaft in half by catching too much dirt once, switched to a stiffer shaft when getting fitted and my ball flight has changed a little lower to produce more roll and it eliminated my slice. I would say 10-15 yards more.
