It looks like it could be a transformer!

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

Here's more info - http://thesandtrap.com/columns/bag_d..._method_putter The limited release is going to be distributed based off of the retailer's sales, so basically, Nike's bigger accounts will get more of the limted releases than the smaller accounts. If I were you, I'd hit up my local shop. They should be able to get you one, even if they werent initially slated to get any. The limited release models will be made at The Oven in Fort Worth. Good luck with it!!

You're totally entitled to your opinion, and I'm not going to try and change your mind or anything, I'm just curious as to why?

That's kind of a ridiculous statement to make. Especially considering 2 major winners played all Nike equipment this year.

I know it sounds kinda crazy, but think about it like this - I'd say that the percentage of golfers that even know about this putter is much smaller than you might think. Out of the people that do know about it, a much smaller percentage will even consider using a Nike putter for one reason or another. Out of the people that do know about it and would want one, even fewer will shell out $250, because the line of thinking is that for another $50, they can buy a Scotty.

The other reason I say that you should be able to get one without much of a problem is because this past Friday, I was in my local shop getting fitted and ordering my new irons, and I asked about it out of curiousity. The store manager, who was the one doing the fitting, told me they wouldnt be getting any of the limited editions, but if I wanted one, he could get it for me. They just hadnt planned on even requesting any. If you go into your local Golfsmith or GG, and they wont/cant get it for you, check with one of the smaller shops near you. They might be easier to work with. Make sense?

I know it is, and I never said there were any justification to my opinion. It's just a gut feeling. I just can't get over the Swoosh on the clubs.

But I still don't like the look of this method putter. Too busy. And who is going to pay $300 for a Nike Putter anyway?? Why not just get a Scotty or a Bettinardi or even a Redwood PING. I think it'll flop.

I tried a scotty out the other day and I could feel, see, and hear the ball hopping into the air and skidding along the green. For my stroke I think the

4* of loft was just too much (I have a YES! which has the grooves to get it rolling but I dont really like it). This putter would be absolutely perfect for me if it does what it says. It has less loft(2*) but is able to get the ball rolling because of the unique groove system however it also claims to have soft feel. The YES! is similar without soft feel but mine doesn't have the plumbers neck(or whatever its called) which I would get the nike with. It just seems like it should be a perfect fit.

How is it any more busy than this?

Dont get me wrong, I want a Red X bad, I'm not dogging it, I'm saying that it's funny how, because it has a swoosh on it, it's labeled "busy", but it's ok when it's Titleist/Scotty Cameron. As I said before, I'm not going to try and change your mind, everyone is free to game what they want, it's the double standard that's very annoying. That, and the fact that if there's a thread on anything Nike, some feel compelled to hate on it, regardless of anything else.

Ya know what? It's all good. Like Katt Williams says, people are gonna hate, regardless. Can't change that.

True, Nike is for sure legit. Even tiger, the best player in the world, plays all Nike except for his scotty putter. I think nike's putters are great though.

Probably a perfectly fine putter...but it is hideous.

Sez the Mizuno fanboy. Go figure.

The putters will do fine. YES putters and the Rossa putters with grooves do fine, and so will these.

    • Same here. Seems quite a few of my fundamentals had strayed and Erik had to get me back on track. It was kind of surprising how bad I had gotten off.
    • I would like to point out I was not complaining about hot summers;  rather, I enjoy them.  It's the coming cold cold winter I'm about to face that worries me.
    • From late 2022 until a few months ago, I barely played (maybe two dozen rounds, total, and only four rounds in 2024).  I had my first lesson in ages (Skillest, with Erik) and grip was part of it -- mine really did get into a bad spot, and I had to (and still have to) practice the new one.  It still feels odd, but that's a good thing when adjusting (otherwise I'm probably doing the previous).   I'm going back into the office for the first time since then and I'm tempted to take a small section of pipe, keep it in a desk drawer, and periodically take it out to practice my grip.
    • Great episode on GAPs. I agree 100%, this needs to be consistent. It is something you have complete control over to a high level of repeatability and precision. It is such low hanging fruit as well.  My own tendencies.  Grip - Can get too strong. I tend to not get much grip with my left pinky, and the grip can feel like it slips more into the palm. I mess around with grip size and tap wraps. I wonder if I need to get away from a big taper.  Stance - Use to be too far right. I noticed, for the first time ever, I was aiming too far left on the course last week. It was like 5-10 yards left of the target, not 20-30 yards right. Overcorrection. 🤣 It is getting better.  Posture - Way better now that I stretch and work on mobility. I could tell years ago that if I tried to keep my knees less bent, get more on the balls of my feet, I felt a stretch in my calves and hamstrings. Now, I don't, and it helps. I think people might avoid that stretch feeling because it might feel unnatural. I used to be head up as well, looking too much down the bridge of my nose. I still can catch myself doing that, especially on shorter irons. I think I have average ankle mobility. I do have to use elevated heels when I squat at the gym, or I tend to fall over forward.  I agree, if you are not practicing this then you can become lax. For about the entire first half of this season, I was just waltzing up to the ball without aiming. I still catch myself being lazing. I have to step back and actually aim. I think adding this into your practice sessions is easy. Just do it before ever rep at the range. Just make it a conscious effort on the course.  For the tee shot, the only time you can kind of use an alignment aid (other divot or maybe something is lying on the ground). I tend to use that to help me aim. I try to imagine a straight line that I align my body to.
