Being on a college budget I'm normally not drinking anything near top shelf.

Tuesday's and Thursday's are dollar wells and domestic bottles so I'm usually out at least 2 nights a week.

But when I'm buying from the store I try to get Red Stag Black Cherry.  But if I have to I settle for a fifth of Evan.

There are much better things available than Red Stag or Evan in the same price range. Bought a bottle of Glen Moray 10 for $29 on Saturday. One of the best values I've found.

Evan for $10?  I like it more than Old Crow and Calvert. Red Stag I enjoy that usually runs $18 or so but I'm sure I could possibly find better.  Any recommendations?

When it comes to bourbon/whiskey (or any liquor really), it depends on your intentions.

If you wish to mix it, buy cheap. If you wish to drink it, go for the better stuff. (Was my Dad's golden rule)

For instance, if we're drinking whiskey and cokes, I'm buying Kentucky Gentleman at $14 a handle. But if we're drinking whiskey on the rocks, I'm picking up a bottle of Jameson or Dancing Pines (local distillery in Colorado, they also make the BEST spiced rum I've ever had). Eagle Rare is another good whiskey, but I typically have to have a few mixed ones before drinking it on the rocks.

Yeah, for the dollar wells i go with the domestic bottles for my first few drinks so it's not as bad tasting whiskey the rest of the night.

Old Fitz 100 proof, W.L. Weller Special Reserve, George Dickel No. 8 -- all worthwhile at $15 to $20.

After my round of golf yesterday I meant to post this.  After nine holes with my buddy we went to a local Irish pub where they have a ton of beers on tap.  We were fortunate enough to have Zombie Dust by 3 Floyds.  I'm wondering if a few of you have had the chance to try this semi-rare beer.  Probably one of the best I've ever had.

Zicke zacke zicke zacke. Hoi hoi hoi!

Note that I actually did a Google image search for "BMW International Open" to make sure this photo was legit. In fact, here was another photo from the same ceremony:

Keep shooting for the five-hole, Dustin.

A Batch 19 lager and two gin and tonics tonight. For once, I got the ratio right building them up.

I'm assuming the dollar wells are at the ballyhoo and party cask III is the store of choice, go trees

Sierra Nevada summerfest, great after a 12 hr shift

Can never go wrong with any of Sierra Nevada's offerings, tho I rarely stray from there pale ale. IMO best beer on the planet.

The name of this place escapes me but glad to hear they are still in business. That place took alot of my $$.
