So how far south from Montreal, Canada do I have to go this winter for a few days of golf?

January - February time frame.

Is there golf in the as far north as Maryland/Delaware? Or do I have to get all the way down to the Carolinas?

I'm not looking forward to this long winter break.

I live in Southern Indiana. January and February are a no-go for golf, unless you get lucky with a couple of warm days. But, even then, the golf courses are in horrible shape. I would think the Carolinas maybe the farthest north you can get while getting some good golf in.

Best of luck on the long lay-off

It all depends on the weather and what kind of conditions you want. Philadelphia courses try to be open, I get emails from them during the winter, Ocean City, MD courses also stay open and some even have specials where if it's below 40 golf is free if you rent a cart. We have a few courses here on the CT coast and in NY that keep the greens open year round, so long as there's no snow on the ground.

Australia heh? Well one day for sure. I got family in Adelaide and I beleive Melbourne...but for a golf weekend, it might be a little far to commute!!!

I guess I'll try to get a week down in Florida maybe Jan/Feb.

January/February are usually our coldest months in the mid atlantic area and this year is suppose to be worse. I'm thinking North or South Carolina would be your best bet..maybe southern Virginia

If you decide on Florida, I highly suggest Orange County National. About 20 mins from downtown Orlando. If you want to maximize your golf for the week this is the place to stay. They have 2 beautiful courses, unbelievable practice facility, a short course, and lodging onsite. They hosted PGA Q-school back in 2007 and were just rated #1 course in Florida by a publication.

As a local, I play out there all the time. Definitely worth a look.

Jan/Feb can be hit or miss as far south as Dallas, Texas. That time of year, it could be 90 degrees or 20 degrees with sleet depending on the day.

Well considering that's our weather this time of the year, I'd sure love to live through that in the winter.

Our golf season ends october/november and starts up april/may.

If only Canadians could move easily to the US, I'd be down south in a heartbeat.
