Hey everyone, I just bought TW PGA 10 for the xbox 360 and I was wondering whether other people played the series and how you guys thought about it. I'm pretty busy studying so no 3-page post from me :P

my favorite was 2005 for the original xbox. 2006 was terrible, and the 360 versions have gotten better every year since, but 2005 was best because of playing as/against legends, and i liked the fantasy courses.

Also the old ones felt MUCH more smooth

I miss the fantasy courses as well. I have owned half a dozen TW for xbox, Macintosh, Vista, and Wii. I am working through Wii '10 with the new controller module now and like it a lot. One of the best things is buying the clubs you use and making a realistic avitar, my grandson has no problem recognizing me on the screen. I love my current setup too, Wii and a Sony 52"; sweet.

For me, I stopped buying the Tiger Woods games because they all were pretty much the same. I have the xbox 360, and I think the last one I got was 2005 or 2006.

Got kind of boring for me, able to shoot 20 under par on the courses myself ... then get online to play against other people & end up getting smoked.

On the games I had, you could use power boost on your shots to get unrealistic distances ... you could put unrealistic spin on the ball to get it ridiculously close to the pins ... you could see the specific mark & speed that you needed to roll your putt to to get it in the cup. Not very challenging for me.

I have downloaded a couple of the demos of the new ones that have come out, but again, they are the same as the old ones which I don't play anymore anyway since the evolution of the Rock Band/Guitar Hero games .

According to the reviews at http://reviews.teamxbox.com , the game got a 9 out of 10 score (as well as the Editor's Choice award) ... so it appears that it's a keeper. But for me, they all seemed the same back in the day.

Have you tried playing on the pro difficulty? You can't use the putt preview and the meter goes faster. Or you could not use the meter and swing with the left joystick making the game more difficult.

What the ....?

That's funny!

I am still on TW '08. I usually play it on random Saturday mornings. I skipped '09 and am getting '10 for Christmas. The game really served as the catalyst to actually get me playing for real. Now I can't buy video games because I have greens fees to pay. That may have been a little counterproductive for the game company.

Ben Hogan is my swing coach.

To be honest, I haven't played the TW game for probably 3-4 years. I don't remember what level I was playing on at the time. Got bored with it & it's just been collecting dust.

I have about 10-15 games right now, I probably play an average of 1 hour per week since I can still get out & golf before the snow hits here in Colorado, and that 1 hour that I DO play is usually Rock Band or Guitar Hero :). I just got Guitar Hero 5 and I haven't even played it yet ... I got it because you get Guitar Hero Van Halen for free with some promotion they were running. Maybe this winter I'll dust off TW again & see where I left off and try the different difficulty levels.

I play TW 2009 for Wii. The music and commentators eventually are annoying - normal stuff. One other "minor" annoyance is the proshop. Hmmm . . . which one of these 90 mock turtlenecks* shall I wear today?

    • Day 7: got out my chipping net and worked on chipping in the living room for a solid 15 minutes. Worked on mostly low shots, but mixed in a couple of high shots as well.
    • Day 228 4-4 More hip/chest turn and wrist arching. Working on hinging wrist a bit later. Foam balls.
    • Day 27 (4 Apr 26) - Worked with grandson on basic pitches/punches in the back yard with varied irons/wedges.  Wrapped up the day rolling some putts on the 30’ carpet I can set up in the yard to give varied terrain - and this carpet rolls almost too easy. A great way to figure a read and know that pace has to be near perfect to get in the hole.
    • A bit of a struggle today.  Just some thoughts/musings.  For the backswing, it is like I am never going to be moving on from this. I don't know if I can ever get to the point where the backswing isn't like over 1.5 seconds in duration. Which is probably not ideal. I would like to get to the point where I can just fling the arms back and up.  I have to feel like my hands are going to hit my right thigh from P1 to P2. If not then they like to move 2-5 inches towards the ball from P1 to P2. Then it's just bad from there. This feeling is my hands not gaining much depth, just maintaining depth from set up. From the DTL view, the hands head towards the camera.  While I am doing that, hinge the crap out of the club with my wrist only. Hinge in a way that the club is pointing at the camera at P2.  From P2, lift the hands straight up. I can get here, and still roll the club inside and get it way too shallow.  With the downswing. There isn't much here. I still can't get the flow of this or the sequencing of this to line up. It doesn't help that hinging from P1 to P2 just throws off my entire timing as well.
    • Day 550 - 2026-04-04 Practiced in the sim at a club for awhile. Did a SW ladder and practiced for awhile with my 7I.
