How many rounds would you need to play in a week / month / year to feel like you played enough?

For me I think if I could play 4 rounds per week / 15-16 rounds per month and around 200 rounds per year I would be getting enough golf. Right now I average around 2.5 rounds per week / 10 per month and it does fell like I get enough golf in. I have to be creative to ge that many rounds in as I work and have young kids so I don't see me being able to get more rounds in.

One round always leaves me wanting to play another. I gotta play at least 8 rounds per month to get my membership fee's worth so I try for that. Right now the weather sucks (rainy) and I've been hurting from overplaying so thats been limiting me.

Looking forward to sunday-tuesday when its supposed to be close to 70 again!

I try hard to play 4 to 8 rounds a month and that keeps me happy. It may not seem like a lot, but we dont have a "winter season", so 4 to 8 rounds a month is all year round. On a side note, my buddies and I did 4 rounds in one weekend (two on saturday and two on sunday) and by sunday night I said I didnt want to play for a month. Needless to say, we played golf the following week and contemplated 6 rounds the next time we had a 3 day weekend!

ALOT!!!!
Im addicted haha
I would play every day if i could get to the course. But i think 3 to 4 rounds a week is fine.

They say golf is like life, but don't believe them. Golf is more complicated than that.

27 holes a week usually keeps me satisfied. I play more when I get the chance but lately it's been a lot less which is starting to get to me. We don't have to stop for winter here so at least I can play all year round.

I play 1/ Week right now. I would like to play 3/ Week, 12/ Month. But if golf was free I would golf every day.

2-3 times a week, usually just play nine, sometimes 18 on a weekend. I play quite a bit during the week, weather been slowing that down lately. I work in the evening, play 9 a couple times a week in the afternoon before work and then usually either sat or sunday or both.

I have no idea. I only get to play a handful of times a year. Over the last 10 years, I have probably played 40-50 times. I wish I could play 4 times a week. I would be scratch easily.

I play as much as my budget permits. Usually 1-2 rounds a week. One of these days Ill get a membership somewhere and play all the time.

This summer when the days were long, I hit a bag of balls and played 9 holes 3 days/week, then 18 every saturday and sometimes 18 on sunday. That was almost enough, but not quite. My daughter was always with me through the week, so I used those rounds for practice and kept score on my weekend rounds.

Too much is never enough!

Honestly though, even discounting the need to work, I have enough other interests, including interests that include the family, that even with unlimited opportunity, I'd probably end up at 3 days a week......though at least one of those days would be 36 holes if at all possible.

I've never hit a point where I wanted to stop, so I really don't have an answer to the question. Through college I was budget limited obviously, but once I graduated and put some money in my pocket I started playing at least twice a week and wishing it was more.

We take a trip every year where we play 36/day for 4-5 days barring rain and at the end of that my hands are pretty sore but I still wouldn't stop if I didn't have to.

I moved to a new area in June and found a course I definitely plan on joining next year so I'll put the - how much is enough - question to the test when I'm playing "for free."

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
