I'm not sure I could ever have "enough"

Really? Say you win the loto, join a club, and live in a nice climate. You could play 2-3 rounds per day if you wanted to. Would you play 700 - 800 rounds in a year?

I could do that easily although my wife might have another opinion on the subject.

If money and weather wasn't a factor, I could play all day.

enough or what you prefer?

Enough for me, right now, to feel good about my game and not be obsessed to get to the course at all slow momments....2 rounds a week.

enough if i was retired / not working, didn't have kids at home...4 or 5 times a week

i don't consider playing 27 or 36 holes in a day extra. To me if you are at the club and get in a little range time and 18 holes that is awesome. adding in a bonus 9 or 18 is a matter of time. Once a month or so I get the 27 or 36 on friday and those are GREAT days but I don't count them in my head as extra day. Just a better / longer day!!

In the summer, 1-2x a week, but occasionally I won't play at all, and sometimes I'll play more. It's obviously restricted by budget, and we also travel fairly frequently so I can't always play. I do prefer playing 9 to playing 18 though; 9 is ALMOST enough golf, where as 18 is a tad too much for me. I tend to lose interest after about 3 hours. I wish golf was played in 12 holes instead of 18.

During the summer I played 4 times a week...until my shoulder started acting up. I took a swing one day and I thought I'd been stabbed. I had to take a few weeks off after that, but it was just some kind of strain that cleared up and hasn't bothered me since.

So I'm going to say 4 times a week is a little much for me.

Because of family and work commitments I can only make it about once a fortnight. I usually try to get to the range on the weeks I'm not playing and at the moment I've got lessons on a Monday evening.

The weather here in the UK does get pretty cold/wet from now but last year I played on the coldest day of the year in the snow (the lakes were frozen enough for there to be balls resting on the ice) so the only thing that will stop me is it getting dark early.

Okay lets say you hit the jackpot and can do whatever you want with the rest of your life - yeah for me playing golf certainly would be an option. But playing that much has to have a goal in mind, be it becoming club champ, joining a mini tour or trying to join the senior tour later on - there has to be something you compete and challenge yourself for. Else it would be pretty senseless.

And obv. you have to play within your restrictions your body sets you - you have to take breaks, heal injurys - stuff like that.

for me it partly comes down to money too. I play twice a month or so now and even though I would like to play more, there is no way I could play daily anymore. I did that growing up, probably 2 rounds a day usually, from about the time I was 10 until 18, and ever since then, I am kinda burnt out. I went to the range yesterday and only hit half the bucket before I was bored and went home. I kinda feel like I am at a plateau and just don't enjoy it like I did before.

I play 9 holes every day during the week and 18 every day on the weekend. 9 holes only because I'm on the golf team and we either have practice or we play a match, but the matches are only 9 holes.

I still don't think i get enough golf in. We practice on the range and stuff for like an hour after our 9 hole practice rounds. I guess that's why we're going to regionals next weekend ;)
