I generally hit a 7 iron about 150 to 155.
I'm 50 years old now and never have hit my irons real hard or long. Just try to hit them straight.
Would the regular flex Ping AWT shaft in my G10's fit my profile. Just don't feel like I need the stiffs like I had in my Eye 2's (Karsten KT shaft) anymore.
Thanks for your insight.

I generally hit a 7 iron about 150 to 155.

I am about the same length and I have stiff AWT. It is all about what you like.

This depends in part on what trajectory you get with your G10s. The Ping site has side-by-side comparisons of its irons:
http://www.ping.com/clubs/irons.aspx

The G10 delivers a medium-high trajectory, and the AWT regular flex is a midkick shaft that is slightly lighter than the average metal R-flex. If you like them, stay with them.

I responded because I test-hit the new G15 (also medium-high trajectory) irons today. Shaft varieties were:
* TFC 149i Regular graphite (86 grams)
* AWT Regular (108 grams)

The G15 graphites had a crisp feel to them - earlier graphites in the G10s I hit this spring felt mushy. Whether metal or graphite in the G10s, I pulled or hooked most of the shots. Also, G10s got the ball up too high for me.

AWT metal shafts felt reasonably good in G15s.

I test-hit G15s into a net - no computer info on trajectory.

As I said earlier, if you like your G10s, keep 'em. Player profiles (based on driver swing speed and lenght of 7-iron shot) just get you in the area of what you need. Final decision rests on whether the clubs deliver for you.

Focus, connect and follow through!

i have a ping AWT R flex on my ping i10 even though i play project x 5.5 and will switch to the dg s300 in the new titleist 710 Ap2. I get a really low ball flight with the AWT which is why I decided to go for the R flex and not the S. my distance is comparable to yours because I hit my 7-iron 165 yards
