$1000 - Lessons or Equipment?

I would get lessons. I had some lessons earlier this year and I can't even tell you how much its improved my game. I don't have much money right now so lessons are out of the question.

I think a third option should be "Green Fees" Because I'd probably get a 5W, 54* and maybe a lesson. The rest would go towards green fees. This is mainly because I'm a broke sophomore in high school.

The next golf related $1000 I spend will hopefully be greens fees.

I spent a thousand dollars (or more) on lessons this year. So... that's what I voted for.

Makes me happy to live in such a rural area. Our course owner is a 40 plus year PGA Teaching Professional that has been giving lessons for just about as long as I have been alive and his rate is $25 for a half hour session or five half hour sessions for $100.

If I had the choice I would still spend the money on lessons first. It is never the arrow, always the indian.

A multi-day golf camp would be fun, but would cost more than $1000. So I'll take equipment. A new carry bag, a driver, two dozen balls and I will define an HD video camera for swing analysis as a necessary piece of golf equipment.

Lessons for sure. I can get on some good streaks during a round...last Saturday I birdied 4 holes in a row, including the #1 and #2 hcap holes. My game from about 80 to 40 yards and in is what I need work on. Most other aspects of the game I am happy with in respect to the reduced playing time and practice over the past year.
