Huh? My question said that, twice. I'm just curious to see how Goydos went about tripling par.

Oh, my bad. I thought you were asking what his score was which made no sense to me since you said he got a 9 on it.

Anyway, not sure how he reacted. I've been watching it but they didn't show it.

Career Bests:

9 Holes--37 @ The Fairways at Arrowhead-Front(+2)

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

Home Course:

1) The Fairways at Arrowhead

2) Mayfair Country Club

And the final round is in the books. And, to answer my question from earlier, if Watson had won, it would have been the first time that Palmer, Watson won in consecutive weeks on the PGA Tour. I didn't realize until after asking this question that Tom Watson turned pro the year after Arnold Palmer's last PGA Tour victory.

You weren't all wrong, however: on June 13, 1982, Arnie won the Marlboro Classic (later the Bank of America Championship, which is now defunct) on the Senior Tour; the next week, Watson chipped in on 17 at Pebble and won the US Open.

Too bad Bubba didn't get it done this week -- I was pulling for him. Also disappointed to see Tim Clark miss another short-ish putt on the 72nd hole (especially he was on my fantasy team this week).

It was one of those days for Tim and Bubba that both have come to know all too well. The two shot 65 and 66 today, respectively, and neither dropped a shot to par during the final round. Tim missed an easy putt that would have meant a playoff, but one can't say much bad about them...even though victory finished just beyond their grasp yet again.

Paul Goydos rocked an 80 with a 9 (!) on the par-3 fifth? Wow -- worst score of the day by five shots. Does anyone know what he did on hole 5?

I was at the Hope today going back and forth among the top 3 groups. Although I didn't see it personally, one of the Marshals at hole number 5 ( 205 yard par 3 that is all carry over water) told me that Goydos hit in into the lake THREE TIMES. Taking a 9 on a par three will hurt a bit.

Very exciting tournament...congrats to Bill Haas but I thought either Kuchar or Clark were going to win. Kuchar (-9 on the day) was on fire on the front 9 but the 3 putt from 70' on 18 did him in. Clark's (-7 today) decision to lay up on 18 wasn't a bad one imho...he stuck a wedge in close and usually makes that putt. Haas (-8 today) played very well down the stretch and deserved the win. Some people say that the field was not strong but it was a battle all day with Haas, Watson, Kuchar, and Clark...even Weir could have been there at the end save the double bogey. The gallery for Weir, Clark and Ogilvie was 3 to 4 times larger than the final group of Watson, Haas, and Prugh. The Canadian Snowbirds showed great support to their man Weir...they went wild when Weir eagled the par 5 6th hole. It was a beautiful day and a very competitive final round.
