at least it's rain - you can choose to play. Here in VA we have 8-12" of snow on the ground with 12" on the way this weekend, we don't have the option!

Mr. Eagle,

Just curious: What is a Brolly? (Is that like an umbrella or rain coat?) I am not familiar with a lot of english terms. Though I have leaned a few over the years.

Coachella Valley, huh. I grew up in Long Beach, a little south of Coachella Valley, and have a good friend who grew up (and still lives) there. It does get hot, but not unbearable like Phoenix or Mesquite during the summer.

Personally, as long as it is not pouring I'll play. I have no problem playing in a little drizzle. Now windy days, that's another story...

A Brolly is an umbrella ...
I LOVE Google!!

As for what to do when it keeps raining ... I'm still trying to figure out why I live where there's snow on the ground 1/2 the year!!

Yea i wish it was raining here....we are supposed to get 30" of snow today and tomorrow....I HATE WINTER!!

Try wearing a rain suit maybe? haha or just get wet

With good gear, playing in the rain is no problem. What makes it most annoying is all the rain on the course, primarily the greens. It's still fun to play golf when raining if you manage to stay dry.

2-3 pairs water-proof shoes, water-proof hat, Gore-Tex/Gri-Tex outerwear, wool socks, 5-6 gloves, a big umbrella, umbrella-holder on the bag.

Aaah! That is why you should take up snowboarding to pass the time when it snows

If it snows here, I'll hit the slopes and when there is no snow, I'll hit the links!

Go out and play anyway and feel lucky to play golf in January/February. It's been raining for a week solid and the wet, saturated clay soil is difficult to play on around here (very slippery and messy), so don't worry about your score so much. Wear old golf shoes and clothes you don't mind getting filthy.
