Bought a set of irons, should I get them fit?

So I found a great deal on a set of irons a few months ago that I couldn't pass up. I've played with them numerous times since then successfully, but am not sure they fit me. My question is, is it worth getting my swing analyzed and my clubs adjusted at a golf shop? I would probably just be given lie and loft adjustments, so is it worth the money if I'm not getting a new set? Thanks.

You stated that you're playing them well. Why mess with it? Fittings come before the purchase, not after. Play the clubs and get your moneys worth because should you find you do need an adjustment, you could end up paying the same amount for the work as you did for the clubs.

+1. Besides, not all clubs can be adjusted for lie and loft...

What exactly is not working with your swing and/or ball flight? You may need golf lessons, not club fittings...

Please don´t swing while I´m talking !!

Do it. At my local golf shop, loft and lies is $10. They give you a chart that you can take with you. If any of the irons are "off" relative to the set, they ask if you want it adjusted. That's an extra $5 per club. In summary, do it.

Yeah, loft and lies are pretty cheap here too. It's pretty cheap to get a shaft extended or cut down, which is another aspect of this I'm not sure of. TakeDeadAim, I actually have been hitting them fine, but I keep hearing people talking about how you need to be fitted, and that it's worth it. I know there are other threads that address this, but my question is more if it's worth it if you already have a set of irons.

If its just lie it will be worth it. If they need to get you new shafts, etc.... That will be expensive. You may be a rack fit anyway. It is still worth it to have them checked to make sure they are all correct.

I would definitely get your lie angles fitted using impact tape (but first make sure that the shop can adjust the lie angles), as incorrect lie angles can have a big effect on how well you hit the clubs.

I doubt that tweaking the lofts a degree or two will make any significant difference in your game -- you just need to figure out how far you hit each club at their current specs.

Call around and see. I'd love to get a set adjusted for lie angle, though.

The other advantage to clubfitting is that many folks develop quirks in their swing to compensate for equipment that isn't fitted properly. if you have the right equipment, you can probably improve your game more because you're not compensating for your gear.

With that being said...I've never done that. I'm a hacker on a budget

have the lie angle checked. If it can be done (depends on the club), its easy and cheap and can give you a quick win.

Don't mess with the shaft length, because then you have to tune the swing weight , buy new grips, etc.. Loft adjustment is also not needed, IMO. Just learn your distances.

I would DEFINALTY do it, at my club the pro there does my club fit for free and changes the line, length ect. If u get clubs that dont suit u, simaly u wont hit a good ball, or if u do, it could be a lot better.

I have a set of irons i was fitted for 3 years ago when I lived in Florida.
I now live in south Orange County, Ca and am looking for someone i can go to in order to check my lie angles and to see if i need any loft adjustments.
The Irons are Infinity.
